Fantastic summation! Very timely as I’ll be running UTMB CCC in six months and this will definitely inform my training until then. Cheers - MARK

A lot of great information here, without the "fluff", presented with a logical structure that I really liked. Thank you for posting it. I'm 3months out from my 1st 50K trail race (eep!), lots to do!

Thanks. Three months is heaps of time! I think 50K is a great distance. Enough to be challenging, but not so much that you're going to hate your life choices by the end 😂.

Very nice. One of your best youtube videos. A lot of interesting information in a short time. If I ever decide to run an ultramarathon, I know who will be the coach 😀.

thanks so much, since your marathon paces are so specific. Do you have any advice on determining a 50/100 mile pace? seems like such a crap shoot.

I did a 13.1 m race last week, comfortably. In 23 weeks i want to do a 50 k. I plan to do my longest training run three weeks prior. How long should that longest training run be? Thanks...

probably still too early for me to embark. got to have lots of 42k in the bag before trying this one out

Not necessarily. I know a few people who skipped the marathon and went straight to the 50-kilometer trail. The trail can be less demanding than pounding the pavement for 20 miles every other weekend.
