I would LOVE to train service animals!! I mainly work with aggressive or reactive dogs. But what I WANT to do is train for service dogs. So far I haven't been able to get into that field yet. I haven't gone to any kind of college or anything, animal behavior & training simply fascinates me.

I have just been paired of with me guild dog these people that do this work are amazing I can't thank them enough , I can now go out more and feel confident my dog will keep me safe. Woŕking on a partnership were we will take care of each other is àmazing I will never be able to thank peachy or guild dogs for what they do.

As a person who has a dog, I think I get more interested every time I see a guide dog video. Through such a thorough process, guide dogs are born, and there are teachers who work hard like that, so I think they are reborn as great guide dogs. I think the meaning of guide dogs that are people's eyes is too big to be defined. Thank you very much.

I’m visually impaired. Applied for a guide dog once but it was a no due to moving mainly and needed to be able to go places on my own with my long cane. I’d like to try again one day when the time is right. When I was applying people said Danielle is applying for a blind dog, I used to say well if I get one it had flippin well better not be blind. People if a guide dog was blind we’d be in a pickle, a guide dog guides us and a blind dog is a dog who is blind, don’t confuse the two they are completely different. Also I know somebody who has a guide dog and back then she told me basics like the rules and let me have a feel and look of her retired guide dogs harness.

I'm so proud to be a volunteer for this amazing charity.

How does the guide dog know the right train station to alight? The dog is calm and rises from the resting position to start walking out of the train, amidst the crowd, at the right station.

Hey Regis, the dog works with the owner to know which is the right station. The owner will either hear the announcer or know the number of stops and start preparing to go. At which point the dog knows that it's time to get up and get to work!

The dog doesn’t know. The guide dog owner will keep track of where they are and when they need to get off. Guide dogs are there to help their owners avoid walking into obstacles/people/roads. But when it comes to knowing when to get off a train, what direction to go in etc it’s all up to the guided og owner.

Guinness World Records I agree of course! I need to listen to the station stops etc and then alert my boy to go to work and get me safely off the train. This is one reason that it’s hard to satisfy people who want to talk to me about my dog or my blindness. Please leave blind people alone while we are traveling because we really need to concentrate. I’m always counting stops or corners or something! Religious people are the absolute worst!! They want to tell you to pray or repent your sins or that they know a faith heAler and my favorite (god never gives you more than you can handle)”. I appreciate that think they are helpful but if anyone is sure to make me miss my stop, it’s a religious “Christian”. For whatever reason they feel entitled to force themselves on a blind person. I certainly appreciate I ate a nice polite “would you like some help?” And I can ask a question or just smile and say no thanks. And I never mind talking about my dog at times when we are resting, but just not on a bus or subway etc. it can be a nightmare to miss your stop and have to find your way back

My wife is going blind she is blind in one eye and going blind in the other eye I have a 3 month old Siberian Husky I need to get him trained to become my wife seeing eye dog so who can I contact I live in Southwest Detroit Michigan I have him stopping at stop signs and red light I can't bring him in the stores because he's not certified how can I get him certified

If you are in the US there is no certification they are scams and you need to talk to a doctor if you have a disability and if so you can either get a program dog or a dog thats been temperament tested and train your self
