    Right, and never land on the hill with your leg extended you could blow out your knee, always keep your knees a little bent

    The biggest thing by far I have found to help running downhill is strengthing my legs. Particularly weight lifting and Squats. Downhill used to kill my legs it used to be so awkward. Then I grew strong powerful legs and now I glide downhill effortlessly. My legs are strong enough to absorb the impact, stabilize myself, and power forward For anyone who has problems downhill trust me, the answer is to get stronger.

    I am loving this series, it is really informative, thanks! Interesting advice about keeping a longer stride - I'm definitely going to try it out and see if it make a difference :)

    These are steep hills. What about the gradual downhill marathon like the Light at the end of the Tunnel ?

    In my experience, I have twisted my ankle a few times when landing on the forefoot, but I have never twisted my ankle landing on my heels. #landontheheels

    This is totally opposite to what I heard in the previous video. He says land on front and long steps, they said the opposite.

    This is all good, only it is difficult to maintain such jumping ability after 1-2 kilometers of vertical climb.

    I have to wonder if it's a bit one sided, because he's showing how to run quickly downhill. For people who prefer jogging the downhills, i.e., going slower, I wonder if landing on the front of the foot is really necessary or even necessarily advantageous. His only argument against heels is possibility of twisting ankles, but in hiking or moving a bit quicker than that on a very steep downhill, landing on heels is a way to control speed and keep one's body upright. Btw, mud is slippery too.

    Well, Greg is insanely fast downhill runner. I believe he said everything on his mind. Totally agree with heel landing for super steep downhill, would be really hard to brake if you use forefoot

    This is correct. It's much more safier to land on the heel on steep descents. On snow this is a must.

    bullxxxt at 2:17. Never take long steps when going downhill. That's almost like the very first tip in trail running class.

    Bullxxxt is, to use only small OR long steps. Better vary, depending on the terrain. Ask 5 Trailrunners on how to run fast downhill and u will get 7 Answers.
