What is the for and example when you buy put +20% or say a -30%. Is that and extra fee on top of the premium?

I try to exit as soon as my analysis for entering the trade fails

Yes same rules apply for options, only 3 day trades per week for a margin account under $25K

What about the selling part?

So if it expires out of the money you lose everything you put down. So could you sell the day before it expires even its out of the money and not lose the full amount?

Yes you can close any time before your option expires, and most of the time you should

No you can sell the call before it expires to take profit for the trade

With your pateron do you give option alerts or plays and such it’s hard sometimes for me to do all my research but it helps if someone else is able to do it for me thanks!

That’s exactly what I’m asking, I’ve made trades on mt4 and you can manually opt out of a trade once you set your tp but robinhood isn’t like that so I’m guessing trade closes on expiration day and the profit is by how much your strike price goes up

You can close any option before its expiration and your profit or loss is equal to the difference between the value you bought and sold the option for

Can you loose more than you put in? I’m on Robinhood beginner, cash only, & I want to enable options but scared about losing more than I put in &/or do they charge a fee?

You can only lose what you put in for options you buy. For covered calls/cash-secured puts you can lose your collateral in shares or the stock falling to 0. If you decide on naked calls/puts you have theoretically unlimited risk. With credit/debit spreads you risk the stock falling between your strikes and needing to put up the collateral for 100 shares in stock or cash.

I truly am so invested in learning all I can about this but still so scared to actually do it. I tried to find a professional to help guide me or even hire someone to make a bet on my behalf but I soon learned there is hardly no such thing. People aren’t going to play with your money unless it’s a substantial amount & even then, they’re hesitant to. Which is understandable

I still use it for options because the user interface is easy to navigate. Making the same trade on Thinkorswim or Fidelity takes twice as long.

On the expiration date, but I actually have to manually hit cell on the contract? Or does the money automatically go into my account? Like let's say the expiration date came along and I was in the money, is there anything I have to do after that or does the contract just go away and I get the money

Long story short, he found a hack in Robinhood to borrow 10X the amount of money he had and ended up losing it all
