    I always though that the race line depends on the car, Alonzo use to take advantage of his car tires (my english sucks, the tires sre large) he brake a little late then push all the car gaining speed fast, now! Senna was brake suddenly and keep kicking the gas pedal to manage to make the car slide a little bit and gain high rpm at the exit of the curve. Both different cars and different lines

    The one important thing for touge, that everyone should remember, is rule that says, that you cannot be fast if you're pulling pedal to the metal. I knew much of racers, that were good at racing track, but absolutely otherwise at touge. You should know where you should open throttle and where not. You should use your car on it maximum, but you should do it smart

    If out-in-out becomes less viable due to the shape of the course around subsequent corners, do late apexes become more valuable?

  • @TSRB

    @TSRB

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yeah late apexes and simply hugging the inside all the way round are a good way to set yourself up for the next corner. The corner itself will be slower but you'll probably gain time over the entire run. Late apexes will also give you a higher exit speed if a corner leads to a straight.

    Funny enough, overdriving made me slightly faster than 90% of people on the servers I'm playing on 😂 My PBs are usually just 3-7 seconds slower than the current fastest on the server. For example usui circuit, usually the best time is from 2:05 to 2:10, my lap time on Ae86 Tuned varies from 2:12 to 2:16 (depends on a day (bad or good), amount of players and car settings which I change pretty often to understand how to setup the car properly) On the lines where it would be smarter to drive 130 kmh MAX, I drive up to 140-160 and then smash the brake pedal before entering the corner. It most likely looks awful to anyone driving behind me, but it's somehow few milliseconds faster

    I already do this... I play car x myself and it's hard as balls to do the complicated stuff like no control steering or whatever the actual name is, try having front tire grip through a corner and only using the accelerator to turn. Only turn on entry then no more. You shouldn't drift, but more like sliding your tires and wearing them a little less than drift. While grip is better for tire wear, this still conserves and is even faster.
