i found my holy grail in removing brass on brown hair, i use manic panic dye!! color correcting. its cheap and amazing. use turquoise or a greenish blue for orangy red hair. mix a drop of the color into a white conditioner. very safe for hair and non damaging. its just conditioner with some color. mix it up and leave for 15 20 mins. the brass is all gone

It works!! I used the one for light brunettes, my hair was actually more brassy orangish then red. But I wasn’t looking for anything that would make it darker or blonde! I just wanted the ashy light brown, this did the trick. I suggest leaving it in for longer then 3 minutes. I waited in the bath tub for 6 minutes and took it out because of my lack of patience

I used this product 1x for 3 minutes and couldn't comb through my hair afterwards! It fried my hair! I was pretty fired up. It did mellow out the red a teeny bit and blend my roots to my ends a little better but it sure dried and damaged my hair in the process. I'll have to get a very good deep conditioning treatment. I am okay with the color correction but not okay with the damage.

Thanks so much for this tip. I've used this toning toning shampoo for several weeks now, and indeed it works great. What I don't like is that I can't quickly wash my hair anymore, it instantly takes the effect away. Also, I leave it in for about an hour before I rinse it out so to get the desired results. And I have to use it once or twice per week in order for the effect to remain. This might have to do with that I wet my hair everyday in the shower, although I just wash my hair once per week. I guess if I wouldn't rinse my hair on a daily basis with water, it would last longer. Nevertheless it's a bit of a hassle. Is there anything more permanent, that I would have to use-for example-once per month?

@ellebangs first off, let me tell you how informative and descriptive your videos are. You really take the time out to explain in great detail about your topic and I feel that you do so in a way so you can completely connect to each viewer on an individual level instead of on a whole; every person is different. I did have a question though in regards to the eSalon brass banisher. I'm currently in the process of growing my hair out and I have a couple of inches of roots and approximately 18 inches of this beautiful honey color. When choosing the correct shade for the banisher, do i go for light brown shade? It's really closest to that and I don't want it to match my roots. Just want to tone the color i have. Thanks 😘

Question for all the hairstylists out there.. I recently got Carmel/ golden light brown highlights on my dark hair. My natural hair color is dark ash brown.. my stylist warmed up my base color to a medium warm brown. She did a great job, but the color doesn’t suit me and I’d like to go back to my natural dark ash brown hair. I went to Sally’s and they told me I wouldn’t be able to go back to a cool toned brown from warm because it would turn green.. my question is.. is there any possible way to go back to dark ash brown from the warm colors I have in my hair now? Any suggestions are appreciated ❤️

question, can you use gray dye to do the same thing? have you heard of that? does the shampoo fade pretty quickly because its a Stain and re apply it every time you shower?

How long does it take to start noticing a difference? I just dyed my hair a medium chocolate brown, but it turned out to have a red tint to it; which I do not like.

I have a level 6-7 base (very warm/brassy toned) right now that I'm looking to paint balayage myself onto. I'd like to keep the darker roots but want to tone them first like you note in the video. Could I tone with this shampoo and then paint the bleach streaks on top to the sections that I want to lighten?

Hi just wondering if there is a toner that brings the warm tones back into hair. I had natural streaks of blonde and copper in my hair when I was younger but my hair grew ashier and ashier over the years and now I feel it makes me look drab and washed out. I want to bring that flattering warm glow back. Thoughts?

Hello! Im a new subscriber! Love your channel! I Had a question. I recently bleached my natural hair (dreadlocks) to blonde and I was interested in doing a shadow root ( mid-light brown at root and blonde ends that are close to the scalp. I wanted to do this all with bleach and no depositing color to keep it simple and cost effective. I figuered I could go into my black roots with a bleach and 15-20 volume developer in conditioner and apply it to my roots and get a nice brown. I know there is a high possibility of it coming out brassy. My question is will this shampoo stain my blonde ends? The ends of my hair are a pale yellow blonde that I will tone to ashier white blonde and use shimmer lights to keep the pale color. How would you recommend you tone blonde hair with brown roots that is completely done by bleach?

Hi Sylvia! If I have a baylayage with light/med brown top and ash blonde ends, would you recommend this? My goal is get the red hues out of my brown and keep my blonde. Purple doesn't seem to take care of the red in my brown hair.

How much did you use to get the doll head hair so brown? I used that same product and left it on for 5 minutes and it didn't really do anything. What am I doing wrong?
