How to to use public transport in Izmir, Turkey
Some useful details on how to use the public transport system in Izmir, Turkey including how and where to purchase the necessary Izmirim card.
We found it difficult at first to navigate the Izmir public transport system as little information was available in English and we got conflicting (or plainly incorrect!) answers from people we asked for help. We made this video so that others might find it a bit easier!

nice one you been there in Turkey. Thank you for this inforamtion how to use public transport in Izmir Turkey.
You can now use Visa and Mastercard cards on lots of busses, all the trams and subways. However you can't use them with İZBAN or on some very long bus routes since they give you back some of your money.

Hi Paul, thanks for watching and commenting. Izmir is a great place to visit. There is a lot to see there. Cesme, Foca, Ephesus. Also it is very safe there. We will hopefully soon publish more videos on that. We can definitely recommend it .

We are bringing only euros and credit cards. To buy bus or train ticket, would the US credit card work there? Pls advise if anyone knows. Thank you.

You can easily change Euros there if need be. Credit Cards should also work. You may have to inform your credit card company themselves that you are going abroad.
izmir card must active with hes code? dont need activated?

Its activated when you buy it, you need to put credit on it then it should work
Is it very clean city...? No dirty city...?

Currently it's a dirty city but the city is working on cleaning it and making the areas more beautiful.
What about children?
