I wonder why he didn't tighten the hinge side screw? Maybe because the screw driver is too long to between the window glass and louver tension screw?

Mines have been fully tightened however they are still loose and not staying fully closed

Mine don’t have screws in them, just some kind of plastic thing.

The video is excellent, but I can’t make the Louvers stay open, they close. Is something I need fix? I was thinking in removing the screws and insert wood in the holes to make the screws hold the lovers . I can do that?

If your shutter panel does not have tension screws, it likely contains tension springs. These springs are not visible because they are located in the Stile behind one or more louver pins. The springs will only be found on one of the Stiles of a shutter panel. The spring pushes against the louver pin and louver. Tension is increased by driving the louver into the opposite Stile. Tension Springs are generally found on the second louver from the top and bottom. Poorly constructed shutter panels that contain tension springs can lose their tension. When this happens, tension can be increased by installing additional tension springs using a shutter tension kit. The number of additional tension springs will be predicated on the size of the panel, total number of louvers, and size of the louvers.

@@bradenjones2844 this is the exact Q & A I was looking for as our shutters do not have sides screws and are driving me crazy bc some of them won't stay in the position I put them in. Thank you for this response. I'm a visual learner so I'm gonna see if can search YT or the web to find a vid of this repair in action. In your opinion, is this fix fairly easy to tackle as a DIY?
