How to tie the snake knot
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this tutorial I show you how to tie a snake knot. The knot has many uses in rope crafts, from making bracelets, lanyards, to even making dog leashes and zipper pulls.
It is a very common knot in the paracord crafts, so I highly recommend learning it.

Why do you lose. The previous knot and feed the leg through? Totally unnecessary
Thank you for your easy to follow demonstration. I really appreciate it!

Thanks a lot! I looked through five races until I figured out how to make a knot!

Instead of how he does it, repeat the knot he did first one below the other. It’s far easier
Awesome! Quick and simple! I had a slighy head injury that affected my.memory, so if I go more than two or three days without tying a knot, I need to watch how to do it again. All the knots I learned before the injury I still know, it is just when I learn a new one. Thank you, take care!

@@JDStone20 yep.same stuff with me mate. Forget the movie or the series and can go back and watch it again. You have to look at the positive..those really good tv things we can triple enjoy them. Listen. I was thinking. When you get the burr up that quick your basically microbevelling.you are sharpening it right on the edge and in the end you have to obviously thin it all back out again.... but its a very good way of sharpening when u think about the time you input into it... and then just thin them out eventually. Because it cuts still quite well even when the angle is getting high if you cross the scratch patterns and light passes and do it right .

I can get such a good edge off of the standard spyderco stones. I love them. I've never used these cbn stones. I really love the spiderco profile stones. I can't get a set.i managed to get a medium but really need a fine one. But they are like hens teeth. So rare

Great video! May I ask what's the cord needed-final lenght ratio for this knot?

I just used this video and this version of a snake knot to make a small knife lanyard. There is another fellow who has a video on the snake knot where the basic knot is the same, but each knot section is actually a seperate knot that is tied then sinched up against the previous knot. When completed, it looks very much the same, but your version makes for a tighter, more smooth appearance. Is the other version actually called something else? He was also referring to it as a "Chris Reeve" knot?
Thanks super video.👍👏👏👏
muito bom! valeu pelo video!
Nice one, keep it up.
Perfect and easy
I know this vid is 4 years old, and I have used this as a guide before (great vid!), but I notice that this way of tying the snake knot differs from what most others do, in that this one ties and connects each subsequent knot together, whereas the traditional way is basically to tie separate knots, one knot tied tightly against the other. Does anyone with more experience with this know if there is an advantage of one version over the other?

what youre thinking of is a wall knot, commonly confused with the snake knot (thats called 'stacked wall knots'). paracord guild actually has a separate video specifically for wall knots
Took me two tries but I got it. Thank you.
Very nice
thanks for an awesome vídeo.
Thank you. I am just starting. I have more paracord than knowledge.
How can I end this knot? It starts with this handy loop but I’m not sure how to cleanly end the knot. Thank you!
MASHAALLAH khub valo video......
Great video but what do you do with end?
Thank you. I appreciate it.
oh oh very good i like it ^-^
Great video 👍excellent instructions!!! Stay hydrated my friend. When the finger tips become wrinkled or more elastic (stretchy) your body needs fluids 👍 Would you mind doing some vids with some shackles for buckles?
I've been doing the snake knot all wrong! Is this how all snake knots are always done? I watched a video on here and they did the same knot, but never flipped it or tied it into the last knot. Wow! Thanks!
Nice tutorial. Thanks!
thank you.
i try'd for ages to figure it out eventually i got there :-) thanks!
good instructionsal
Thank you 😊
Great video. Learnt a new thing today. Subscribed!!!
excellent =) ty
very nice
Which blue color of paracord is this? Lol I'm new and theres so many dif blues
I love your stuff. Very professional, with camera well placed and steady, great sound, no annoying background music or kids and dogs and TV going, etc. I appreciate the thought that went into this video, nicely paced. But beyond compliments I have a question. If I put the work down and come back to it I can't decide which side to begin again on. Can you say something about what to look at in decideing if it is flipped already or needs to be flipped? Thanks in advance.
@Paracordguild

+John Dowd Thank you for the question John! If you look closely at the knot on both sides, you will notice that one side is "doubled" in a way. Two cords at the bottom come from one opening in the knot. This is the section needs to be expanded (have a cord inserted). So i'd flip that so that it is on the right side, then insert the right cord through it by going behind the left cord, then through the front and into the bottom loop on the right. Hope that makes sense :). Mark
