Am I right in seeing that unlike the hair rig the hook link is being being pushed through the front to back at the start, rather than back to front. What is the reason for this?
These videos will stand up for years to come. Great work :)

Thank you, that's kind :)
I thought I'd commented this elsewhere but can't find it now. What I would find really useful would be a video detailing exactly what people need to buy, parts wise, to start making rigs. Maybe a few different levels. A beginner kit. What to add later on, and stuff they are unlikely to need. Most people are fishing in a limited budget, especially at the moment, and terminal tackle components are expensive, so it would be really useful for someone to make a video to help us relative noobs not waste a load of cash on stuff that's not going to be useful. I love your videos. I think I've watched every minute of all of them and always look forward to your new content coming out, so thankyou and keep up the good work.

@@fishingtutorials I mean like most anglers, I love spending money on shiny stuff, but funds are tight so I would find it really useful. :)
Good one Carl. I’ve used the stiff hinge for years. As you say it’s great for confidence as tangles are super rare and generally you don’t get many hook pulls with this set up.

Hey guys, great videos you’re putting up, I was wondering if you could do a tutorial video on the zig rig please, I know it’s a hot weather rig and with some of the fisheries I want to fish this year don’t allow to fish if the top. Thanks guys

Hi there is the stiff boom section on this effective fishing over 5 inches of weed? Or would it need to be a supple material please? Thanks
Hi mate from ur chod swivel to ur lead do you use fluorocarbon boom for ur boom section. Thanks and do you do live video's.
Brilliant! Just wondering can I use this hinged stiff rig straight onto my naked helicopter setup? Between the two beads.. without using a boom section? Cheers in advance
@tomgreen3284

That's called a heli rig
Hi Carl, Would you recommend using this to fish over weed. And would tiger nuts or maple peas be suitable for this rig?
So if im using ronnie rig should i also start using coated braid in silty lakes?
Just an amateur question.If i change the bait floss to needle,and put my pop up on the needle,it will change something?
Always wondered why bait screws aren't used with these rigs instead of a rig wring and bait floss. Seems alot easier imo. Regardless, another crackin tutorial lads

what will happen if i use coated link and BOOM fluoro for the hook instead of mouth trap ?
Do I need an anti tangle sleeve for these?
Hi could you link the lead presentation video you talk about please
How well would this work on a lake with a very weedy bottom? I'm assuming it'll be good but if you can confirm it that'd be great
Can you do a in depth discription of the chod rig as I don't understand how it works as it isn't secure on the line

What's the difference between this and the ronnie rig? Looks very similar.
boys, can you glug plastic corn bait? does the scent penetrate plastic? thanks.
@theohastings2118
3 жыл бұрын
I think you can glug plastic corn but make sure the liquid your using is quite thin, as that penetrates into the bait much better than a thick liquid. This can be in the form of bait sprays, which are available from many bait companies, but also if generally the glug your using is thin then you should be fine. Hope this helps!
Hi is the Chod swivel essential or can I use a normal ring swivel? Thanks
@fishingtutorials

Ring swivel will work fine, it's just a bit bulkier :)

Alex and Carl you both need to get on the goo it's mustard.!
Could be a stupid question but what're the circumstances where this would be a stronger choice over say a standard hair rig?
@fishingtutorials
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Sam, we'd choose this rig over the standard hair rig if there are lots of bream or small carp around and we wanted to get through to the larger carp. Also, if there is fine, low lying weeds like silk weed, this rig pops the hook up away from this weed :)

Nothing like the original which had no swivels just loops if u dont use a stiff boom how can it be a hinged stiff rig .works better with loops not knots direct to swivel
