I simply shove a loop into the carabiner, and then shove the entire line through that loop.

What is a larks head knot then?

A larks head is when 2-5 guys run a train over and back on you mom and take a shit in her mouth when theyre all done. Hence the name Larks head.

Exactly the same as a cow hitch.

Just a different name based on where you're from! Scientific names for knots would be helpful in clarifying this but sadly aren't a commonly used thing...

I wish rbis guy would make videos for novices. This is what a call reminder teaching: you know most everything already, but need a reminder vs. ground up teaching. For example, is the other end of the rope closed or open, or does it matter? Make a “bight” then take the loop…..huh? The loop is the bight, right? Why change name of what your talking about mid - explanation? A novice can’t learn the definition of bight by inference here. I had to go look it up elsewhere…. Dammit. Now I know how to tie this from memory and what all the technical terms are because you made me look it up elsewhere. Well played, my man. You win! Excellent channel Love your videos! ❤❤

Thank you for the feedback, we’ll keep this in mind! This knot tying series was made primarily in mind for our coworkers as a resource when needing a reminder for how to tie a specific knot but I think it would be appropriate and helpful to make a video on common terminology to help people new to knot tying!

That is the lazy way to do it. I want to see you actually tie it.

I'm getting tired of seeing soon many names for the same knot. It's knot fun searching them up to see if I'm knot wrong that I call this a cows hitch when wrapped around a pole and larks head loop when I use it for attaching kite lines to a knotted loop affixed to my kites. 😊

@@appmaniac3391 I'm also frustrated by the different names. You know a knot by its name then someone calls it a different name. Then you go and look up . At least there's not that many and they're all universally commonly named

In searching more, I've come ro realize that girth hitch naming is used more by climbers and tension is on both lines coming out of the hitch (may often be a short loop) so that may be one distinction. A cows hitch has only one end tied to load (cow!), and working end dangling by the hitch, which without any finish knots to secure it I suppose the hitch could be pulled out by a panicked farm animal.
