How to throw a killer slider
Спорт
If you want to throw a killer slider do these 3 things! 1. Grip, the middle finger needs to be on the lace and your thumb should be in line with your middle finger 2. Spin, you have to spend the ball if you want it to move a lot 3. Movement, you want to throw it hard and have that late movement. And that is how you throw a killer slider!

@carlosbrown9144 look him up Junk pitcher
I remember when Sergio Romo was damn near un-hittable for years with that Frisbee type of slider. Shit used to scare me, honestly

Yeah, he was one of the guys throwing that sweeper before everyone figured out how to harness seam-shifted wake to replicate that silly frisbee break and rename the pitch
Thanks bro.🎉 I’ve been meaning to learn this and now I have.
I like it - I like the que of release out front and making a J with the pinky at release. Throw it hard at 3/4 slot and get lots of swing and miss
Thank you i will try my best 🙏
I grip my slider like a 2-seam and use like a karate chop release with a stiff wrist.
Will try this thank you mam
Thanks so much
Keep them coming. Love your work. 🇦🇺

ahh yea but is this real
Thanks bro
That explains it.
Thx
Thats my curve ball grip my slider grip is a two seem but my pointer finger is above the seam and my middle finger is against the other and i throw it by pulling down on the seams and pointing my finger at my target it helps get the right spin
That’s my curveball😅😂❤
Ty my slider hasn't been good lately now I realize I wasn't throwing it harder
That’s how I throw mine
This pitch moves like a wiffle ball
You can throw those sliders all game, every game, and be a great pitcher.

The regular curveball has become kind of a lost art.

yeah because it gets roped. curveball is one of the easiest pitches to hit when you know how to hit it. i pitch in hs rn, my slider has never been touched but ive let up like so many hits off curveballs. even ones that drop into the dirt get roped

@@zacknewton1064 the hanging slider also gets blasted. I don’t know who you are but my guess is you threw a better slider then you did a curveball. But depending on your age, especially if you are younger, I imagine you were throwing a slurve, not the regular curveball which has a 12-6 break straight down. Maybe you were tipping your curveball. There is not a lot of difference between a AAA pitcher and a big league pitcher other than command,or they tip a certain off speed pitch that a polished major league pitcher doesn’t tip. The curveball when thrown well is a beautiful pitch.

@@Brownie-tg3nu im 17 and still playing in hs so ive got a decent grasp on how to throw a curve now, but mb not idk. it may just be i choose the curve in predictable curve situations

@@zacknewton1064 I pitched D2 college ball in the early 2000’s. The game has changed so much. We were always taught to get hitters out in the strike zone. Todays pitchers try and get hitters out with swing and miss stuff which is why pitchers are at 100 pitches in the 5th inning. Work on spotting your fastball and changing speeds. The change up thrown well is the best pitch in the game. But the most important pitch is strike one on the hitter.

@@zacknewton1064 also at upper levels they will know everything about you. And if you tip off speed pitches slightly there is a coach or scout who will catch it quickly.
Trevor Bauer just posted a video discounting teaching every pitcher the same grip. Your grip may not be right for everyone.
If it’s a slurve pitch, don’t call it a slider
Wrong on the release part buddy.
If you lefty’s see this video, it’s just the exact opposite of the grip he’s showing… I think….
