My top thrift tip: take a measure tape with you! I keep in my notes app measurements of my favourite fitting garments. Best shirt, best trousers etc, so I can immediately check if something is too long/tight etc. less time trying on. Got a retractable tape on my key ring

Excellent info! I would also add “understandings fabrics” as a key tip. You alluded to this. I go by feel and opt for wool, silk, cashmere and 100% cotton whenever I can. Those fabrics will hold their shape and drape. I look at seams too - and obviously vintage items are almost always going to be better made and withstand the test of time. I’m not saying I don’t thrift fast fashion - I might and do sometimes - but I never pay a lot and my expectations for how long that fast fashion item will last are very low. There is A LOT of amazing stuff out there we just need to have patience in the hunt! Plus it’s so freakin fun 🤪

Me too. I always pass my hand over the clothes for natural fibers.

Heres something I learned the hard way - go to the thrift store with a fully charged phone so you can Google brands , misc items, etc I’ve gone with an almost dead phone or dead phone and couldn’t google anything lol

At the Fabulous Finds thrift today, there were 12 trench coats, every color, every weight, from 80’s to classic London Fog

Also, just like the Keepsake blouse you found, some people get things as gifts and just don’t want them or have to really downsize their wardrobe so you can find current fashions as well as great vintage. Oxoxo. Great tips, loved it

One of my favorite items turned out to be a chunky cream long heavy knitted scarf which was $1.00. After washing it, it cleaned up beautifully and its a dream. Its like a shawl, looks gorgeous and very comforting!

I TRY to leave empty handed but it is almost impossible!!! I love vintage ❤ and today's haul was an 80's high neck ultra-feminine blouse, a 90's Liz Claiborne (my go-to brand) navy & purple chevron blouse and a cashmere sweater vest! I also found a very unique vintage porcelain tea pot (I have been looking for one for about 8 months). Very successful thrift trip!!!

Excellent video. You should do these once a year. I’ve bought one cashmere sweater, retail, loved it, but knew it was not something I could buy regularly. The rest of my cashmere has all been thrifted. I probably have a total of 8 cashmere sweaters they are all beautiful. I live in Chicago so they come in handy in the fall and winter seasons. also, couldn’t agree with you more on J.Crew as well as L.L. Bean. Great quality & tons at the thrift stores.

I’m finding so much more LL Bean out here in Florida, where I never found it on the west coast! So interesting how that works. I’m quickly falling in love with those styles though also!

As a petite, I never thought of looking in the men's section for clothes. After seeing your finds, I'm going to give it a try. Thank you.

I have the opposite trouble with shoes - I wear a women's size 11M shoe. I think I've found thrifted shoes once, maybe twice? in my size and a style/brand I liked. And I've been an avid thrifter since my college days in the late 80's-early 90's. And 100% agree on thrifting in the men's section. Probably 70% of my finds come from the men's racks. Much better quality and since I'm tall they fit me well!

Honestly, I love your videos and how you style fashion pieces and see the value and vision of vintage and quality mall brand finds‼️💗🇨🇦

I have been saying for decades that banana republic gap J.Crew are very good quality and you’re right mall brands in general. The only brand that I felt was total crap from the mall was Abercrombie and Fitch and it was mainly the women’s because the menswear was really great.

I hate driving and rarely take the freeway unless I absolutely have to 😂😅 so I am very much the same. I tend to stay close to my city limits. I just stick to the stores that restock frequently.
