    Thank you for posing such an informative video on threading 2 heddles. Is there a follow up video showing the sequence on how to use the heddles to create double weave or a pattern? Thank you

    This is different from the way another video shows. The other video did not show placing one strand into the slot to the left. So I ended up with 3 in a slot, one through the hole to the left, and patterns just weren't working. I have to undo and redo now -- yours matches what I find in my Jane Patrick book, and after seeing this, I actually understand her written instructions now. Wow, if it weren't for the internet, I'd never learn anything!

    You are GREAT at explaining and showing the 2 heddle threading concept. I am going from a 4 shaft to a RH because I love the intimacy and control of a RH (I am also a backstrap weaver) but I just could not grasp the threading sequence as explained in books. Your video has all the answers. Thanks again!

    Thank you. . . I just bought my first loom and wanted to use Linen . . . but the heddle that comes with it is 7.5 . So I bought a second thinking no big deal, 15 dpi will be enough. . . but this was the first video that showed the simplicity of it.

    Since you’ve marked the starting holes on both heddles, why not just pull through both rigid heddles when you first pull the doubled warp threads through? Seems like you could reduce the steps by doing that.

    great video I am going to use two 10 dent heddles and warp this way with 8/2 cot/lin to make bread bags and want a 20 sett. Would I put in a header to make the 20 set? How do I separate the threads evenly to get the set without crossing them? Thanks!

    The threading process will be the same, but you will need to find a way to separate the heddles so that you can thread them separately or least get your hands in between to be able to manipulate the threads.

    Hello, what size heddle did you use for this.. Did you use the same size for both? Can you use two different sizes, say like the bigger one at the back and smaller one at the front..?

  • @websyarn

    @websyarn

    8 жыл бұрын

    +edward pascoe, Leslie Ann used two 10 dent heddles in this video. The problem with using 2 different size heddles is that you will not have the same number of slots/holes in front and in back. One of the heddles will end up spreading the warp wider than the other which will cause tension and abrasion on the threads.

    So if you have 4 heddles you would have to go through the slots 4 times correct

    So is this the only way to 2/8 on rigid heddle loom why not just make a 20 dent heddle it seams to be used a lot in weaving I have been doing bands but really want to make my own clothes I try to do 2/8 on a backstrap loom but go 22 inches wide was frustrating it all got so tangled it so hard to keep good tension so I got a 24 in ridged heddle but it seams it is made more for knitting yarn I am doing 2/5 with 12.5 dent that's what I have right now wish iwould have gotten the 15 dent I will see what happens

    What type/size yarn are you using?

  • @websyarn

    @websyarn

    7 жыл бұрын

    It depends on your heddles and your project type. If you are doing double heddles, the yarn you are using should have a sett of the combined heddles, i.e. with two 10-dent heddles the yarn should have a sett of 20 epi. If you are using multiple heddles to weave multi shafts patterns (instead of doubling the sett), then the yarn should fit easily through the slots and holes of the heddles.
