So many people bevel large diameter different ways, even I do and have, but this is the best, most efficient and safest way to bevel larger diameter PVC pipe.

everyone uses this method or a similar version most guys I see use the side of the fibre blade. use whatever you feel comfortable with! although I do disagree with "most efficient and safest" Reed tools makes a beveler that uses a cordless mini router ( laminate router) with the proper 15 degree router bit with a rotating guard that works perfect every time and its 10 times faster! I've been using the reed tool for a few years now and would never go back! why well ya know how some pipe fitings like 45's can go real hard, that's because of the bevel not being cut right! and you run the risk of rolling a gasket! the chop saw takes some skill to get it just right the reed tool gets it right everytime even the new guy gets it right every time! and you don't run the risk of the fibre blade exploding and sticking in your leg or you home boys forehead cause he is holding the pipe! I've had brand new blades come apart on me while cutting! safe hell no! efficient no! gets the job done yes and has for the past 20 years I've put pipe in the ground, I wont be with out the reed beveler! i like putting in pipe knowing we took every detail into consideration makes sleep better before a pressure test! good luck boys be safe and watch those banks everybody wants to go home at the end of the day! local 324 Michigan!!!!!!

sorry but i dont fucking believe you for a second when you say brand new blades have come apart i have installed underground for 17 fucking years and i bet i have gone though 1,000 diamond blades and 10,000 if not MORE beveling/carbide blades, you sound like a complete idiot saying that.

I AGREE WITH U 💯PERCENT BUT MOST COMPANIES ARE TIGHT WITH FUNDS....BEVELING IS SUCH A AKWARD POSITION ESPECIALLY ON THICKER PIPE ..BAD ON BACK..NEVER BEVELED FROM IN FRONT OF PIPE UNLESS IM BEVELING AN EXISTING PIPE IN GROUND ALREADY...MIGHT TRY...RIGHT TOOLS DEFINITELY MAKE JOBS EASIER AND TIME EFFICIENT...

I stand behind behind it and bevel it with the side of the blade you can tell when the blade is no good anymore when it starts to wobble.change it or else it explodes and shit hits the fan.Easy!!!!

Or you could buy a cordless router for cheaper and get this done in 30 seconds and not risk eating abrasive disc when it shatters because you're using it wrong. Get real

So unsafe what he is doing in this video. Gas saw blades are intended for cutting, not side grinding!

You've clearly never worked in the trade before sometimes you just gotta get shit done. What he's doing cuts his time in half and is much physically easier than beveling that pipe out with a fucking rasp or file. I usually use my cordless angle grinder but this guy used what he had at the time.

@@stevenbertrand475 True, but a lot of construction trade accidents happens., because get shit done... A grinder with a sanding disc would've been safer., and gloves as well. Be safe first over fast

@@701Gangstatainment this is a fact not opinion. Also removing that much of the pipe to bevel is very poor practice and degrades the integrity of the pipe.

@@alexhradecky5853 it is not poor practice, it is 100 percent LEGAL also, thats why he is cutting the pipe with the blade, 90 percent of the time, and not griding, I just saw osha last week and they were more upset with saftey hooks not on buckets and ladders with no legs. not one osha employee commented about our pipe beveling.
