My brushes are all based on traditional calligraphy brushes due to the wide versatility of these brushes. I integrate traditional designs along with 21st century techniques and create state of the science and state of the art brushes.

Would love to see more of these videos, Liron. Great info. People who knit and crochet with arthritic hands find much relief using bamboo needles and hooks; perhaps these brushes will make painting easier on the hands as well. :o)

Part of my brush handle designs are to be soft to the touch and larger in diameter than other comparable brushes. This helps relax the muscles from finger to shoulder to increase the amount of time you can work without cramps. The extreme light weight also helps. At my web site I offer some brushes for people that have problems with their fingers or hands. Check them out under Rhizome Handle Brushes & Hardwood Brushes. Links are a way down the home page

Historically I sell my brushes at art shows and artist conferences. Everyone has their own unique set of tests. What is most important is to try a brush with the kinds of strokes you use, because that’s how you’ll use the brush.

Hey Liron. Happy to see you have a video on brushes. I just followed your instruction on a Tuscan scene and one of the problems for me is the big brush I use for washes. It does not hold hold paint as yours does, nor does it have a fine tip. (Utrecht size 16) What do you usually use? I guess the other problem is innate talent. I tell myself what I'm lacking in being gifted, I can make for with enthusiasm and perseverance. Love your channel LY!!!

Hey Ann! I’m sure you can make it too! 😁🎨 Regarding the water capacity, I would try either using an even larger brush, or one that has softer hair - these tend to hold more water. So far plenty of brands have been good to me in terms of water capacity - the ones in this video by Tracy, as well as Escods, Silver Black Velvet, Raphael and Leonard! My gut tells me maybe a larger size will solve the issue (: (and remember the size is relative to the paper).

@@LironYan Yo Liron. I attempted that Tuscan scene when I asked about brushes. I guess the way you smoothly covered the lower right had me flummoxed. It's unfinished and I guess I'll figure it out. In the meantime I purchased a Raphael round 14. Can't help but think of the adage "A poor workman blames his tools." Thanks so much for your reply. Much love.

That small white synthetic made some beautiful calligraphy lines! Does your brush have 1" long bristles or 1.5" ? I have a med. goat/synth. from Tracy that I just love painting with...next month I want to get a large version of the same brush. I really like the bamboo handle on mine--it just feels right in my hand, very different from a wooden handle brush. I'm most definitely a Lebenzon brush fan!

    Are these vegan?

  • @DMountains

Please check out my brochure at www.lebenzon-paintbrushes.com/Brochure.pdf My synthetic bristle brushes do not involve animal products or byproducts. They are vegan by any standard. I am also very environmentally sensitive and respectful. Most of my brushes are made from renewable, repurposed and upcycled materials. The handles are bamboo and are renewable. I offer 12 natural hair bristles and 4 synthetic filaments. Many of the natural hair bristles come from estate sales and related sources. I take someone else’s abandoned trophy and transform that in to a lot of high performance brushes. Other natural hair materials, such as goat, pony, ox, are renewable. The animal gets a haircut on occasion.

same as I on most art supply review video's.. is it vegan 🤭😂 I recently learned from someone in the comment section that most papers aren't vegan, they contain gelatin. I am now on the search of discovering vegan good quality paper with a high light on good quality.
