I was wondering what this thing no pins and wire was.

Fan starts after paper clip test but not when plugged into the motherboard. What do you recommend to do next?

Jumpstart the motherboard by jumping the on/off button manually. I made a video on it. The video is more in depth for your understanding but basically follow the on/off button wires to the motherboard and go across them with a conductor like a piece of wire or even that paperclip. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nmmEsZazf9S4Z7A.html Thats the link to that video. If it's not the switch, last thing I'd say is look into the battery on your motherboard. My motherboard battery literally just died and I had the same issue as you. Let me know if anything helped!

@@JumpermanTech thank you, I was able to jumpstart my mother board and the machine runs without the paper clip now. However my monitors aren't detecting any signal now

you legend...I was shitting myself cos my one only spun for half a second until i realised my eco was turned on

I’m getting no signal on MB

I did the test, my psu starts but few seconds after fan of the psu stops! What do you think it might be?

A high power psu like this will not run the fan unless you're using at least 700 watts. If you're just idling then the fan will be off.

is it safe to just leave the paper clip ?

I've used paper clip before and it worked just fine.

Can't you just simply buy a cheap power supply tester to trick your PSU into on state?
