hello.. thank you for your videos. we just produced our first litter your incubator saved us!! had to bring them home in the middle of a snow storm at 3am .. i ordered the kits from animal genetics today ..puppies are 3 days old and im wondering if i dewclaw them today or tomorrow and put them in the freezer until the tests kit comes, will the dewclaws still be good for testing? unsure of how long the test kit will take to get here to SLC. thanks again for all the info.

I was watching Standing Stone Kennel's channel to learn how to dock a tail. (pup was born with a kink in his tail so I removed it) and when he removed the dew claws he used Silver nitrate sticks for ones that bled. Have you ever used that? I've never heard of it before but then I've always had my vet handle that stuff but he retired and I don't trust these new young vets with their higher prices and lower experience... 😩

If both parents are 4 panel clear. Does that mean her whole litter will be cleared as well?

It's used to clamp just below the dew claw and to cut off the blood supply..... They use them for umbilical cords as well and other things. The claw is just soft tissue cartilage at the age they are doing it at so once they clip the stats on it just pulls off with his fingertips.

Best tip: You always listen to your wife.

Love these two. However, every dog we have with a missing Dew Claw has nervous issues. From shaking regularly to confidence. We’ve lots of dogs. Cannot be a coincidence
