How To: Terrazzo Restoration Patching & Polishing

Old terrazzo floors are often preserved and restored. Partly because they are timeless creations that provide a classic aesthetic, but also because they are durable and inexpensive to maintain. Though the old ones get built over, damaged, or buried, it’s possible to bring them back to life and make them look new again.
The video documents a 90 year old terrazzo floor that’s seen better days. The contractor was hired to fix the broken areas, add on where walls had been moved, and re-polish the existing to match. It’s a good example of an old terrazzo floor’s ability to be made good as new.

Haha! That’s good. This is the work of a contractor friend in Kansas City. I don’t think they intended to match it exactly (that’s probably impossible). It seems to me they tried to make a border that unified the old and new. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.
