How to Tell the Difference Between Old World vs New World Wines
Have you ever heard anybody talk about Old World or New World wines? Do you have a clue what they’re talking about? In this video, Sommelier B. PIerre Asti highlights four key differences that will simplify this whole old world versus new world thing. The key differences are:
1. [1:40] Location: What do you mean by Old World and New world?
2. [2:41] Regulatory Differences: the rules for making wine
3. [4:44] Names and labels on the bottles
4. [7:14] Style of wine making / the taste difference

Hello dear ❤️
Bravo! Vive la France
Hey Boss, I'm here for you too. I'm not the most educated about wines at all. This channel will improve non existent sommelier skills. wlcs.
Really enjoyed . Thanks . From New Zealand but based in Vietnam . Stuck in NZ now because of Covid
Thank you^^*
i find new world, especially French, to be thin, acidic and lacking everything i would call wine. More like vinegar than wine. I'm not going to wait 20 years for all the acid and tannins to mellow out.I will continue drinking our Aussie reds. Great video, and explains the old world's lacking.
Wounderfully entertaining and informative , I Ike my life the same, especially my wine women and song, Oh heck yes all right just my wine I am eighty years of age plus allow me a little leeway, again, thank you for all your interesting articles fond regards. B.F. B. NZ.
Really good and interesting clipp. Didn't know the middle east counts to the old world
I think you unintentionally left Canada out of the new world wines! Getting ready to hold a wine class in this subject and so glad I came across your video. Very informative and looking forward to many more.
Since there is no regulations in the New World, does "reserve" on the label on a California wine, for example, has any definite meaning other than the winemaker got it from a better vineyard? Would it mimic the Old World regulations?

I don't believe so. Most wineries do label their better wine reserve but not all reserves will be any good.

oops missed Canada in new world.. Still an undiscovered gem
this is a good video however you are misinformed about the black rooster on the chianti bottle. Firstly, there is no village of chianti like you stated, it is the region between and surrounding florence and siena. Secondly, it isn't indicative of quality, simply locale. That DOCG label above the Gallo Nero is the indicator of quality much more-so than the rooster. According to the Chianti Classico Consortium website, since 2005 it has been used to represent all wines from the chianti classico region, not just the high quality ones.
