Hey. My name is Donna. I've been watching your channel for about two weeks now with my kids. Great information! Getting ready to get a horse or two sometime in the next year or two and making sure we are as prepared and ready for them as possible. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Thanks for the rope training tip around the neck. My filly got her head stuck in a gate and pulled back, and thankfully was ok, only bent the panels. Since, I've been wondering how to recreate, already using head down and pressure at poll, but this is great for pressure up her neck, which is what happened. Thank you!

Definitely been using your tips for my new horse, he has a tendency to raise his head back when we go to put halters or bridles on. Been having to start at the neck and work my way over his face to catch him, slowly getting more comfortable with it though! I don't get to work with him every day unfortunately

I need to try this! I've just started working a horse that doesn't respond to any pressure. I've never dealt with this before and have had trouble figuring out what to do. Whips don't mean anything to her (being used on the ground behind her or tapping her rear). She walks all over me and is generally "bad". Hopefully this will help!

Very enjoyable channel. Maybe it would be helpful if you could show us a training video with an untrained horse. Again, great KZread channel.

What's your best advice for basic training a broke and green 9yr 1,600lb draft horse? Lunging is definitely too soon for him. I can brush and halter him. When leading he doesn't understand any commands, eats grass, and totally ignores me..... he'll drag me across the field until i let go of the rope. I'm green too.

Great question! When you starting asking from things at the side of your horse, it can help them learn about the driving pressure of leg aids. Maybe start with asking your donkey to step forward by laying the crop against their side. Do this every time you ask the Donkey to move forward. I hope this helps!

Thank you!! He moves forward when I ask him to, after a bit. But he has no clue what to do when I ask him to move is hind quarters over, either side

Hello Hope you are having a great time. Im Amitis and im 16 years I work with a horse which is really anxious and he freaks out most of the times bcz his last owner beats him a lot... he is better now but he is steal uncomfortable with me or anyone and doesn't want anyone to touch him, even for grooming... everytime I wanna touch him, he pulls his ears down and show me his teeth... What should i do? 🤧

She will probably answer..but she has said he is only 13-14 hands..each hand is equal to 4 inches..so that makes him in the official PONY size. 14.2 and below…He is a Chestnut color base with a white rump blanket..and Star on forehead.. probably a POA.. which is a Pony of America..and breed started in the 1960’s by breeding Shetland ponies with Quarter..horses..now it’s own breeding stock. I have had. POA…and he was great..!

I had to sit down to use my entire weight to get my horse to lift her leg the other day with a rope.. she’s fine with the rope, she doesn’t care that I touch her legs, she knows what I want from her because we have been training this for a while (and we HAVE improved), she is just an 800kg draft ass that doesn’t want to lift those legs 😒
