Just consistency and start them around 4-6 months no baby hates the water that young

My son is almost 2 and before I take him to the pool I want to teach him how to hold his breath. Any techniques you use to teach a child to consciously hold their breath?

Yes tell them it’s time to go under and hold your breath say ready set go and slowly dip them underwater nice and smooth for only 2 seconds start there and build up
