Here's the transcript! Missionary 1: To understand our message, you first have to understand that God is our father. He's your father. He loves you, and because he loves you more than anything he wants in the world is for you to be happy. And the way that he's taught us to be happy is through His son, Jesus Christ. He gave him to us. He gave us the gospel of Jesus Christ which is basically guidance and teachings to help us be happy. Now this gospel won't just bless you as individuals. I can promise it'll bless your family. It'll bless you as a married couple. And the way that God has given us this message about Jesus Christ, about his gospel throughout time is through men called prophets. They're basically righteous men that God authorizes to teach his children about Jesus Christ and His gospel. And although there have been times throughout history when people have rejected the prophets, God has always called another prophet to teach us again. Missionary 2: The prophets testify of God's son Jesus Christ. When the time came that He came upon Earth, he established His church. He called his twelve apostles and He taught the gospel. But similar to prophets of old He was rejected and crucified so that you and I can be forgiven of our sins. And after His resurrection, the church was left in His apostles hands to lead and guide, but they too were rejected by mankind the earth fell into a period of darkness where the gospel truths could not be found called a Great Apostasy. But similar like he's done before, our loving Heavenly Father again called a prophet to restore the gospel upon the Earth. That prophet's name is Joseph Smith. In the time of 1820, Joseph Smith was a young man who was searching for the truth. He wanted to know which of all the churches were true and upon reading in the bible, he was counseled that because he lacked wisdom, he must ask of God. He followed that council, went to a grove of trees, and he knelt down and prayed to his Father in heaven. And of his experience, Joseph said, “I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head above the brightness of the sun which descended gradually until it fell upon me. And when the light rested upon me, I saw two personages whose brightness and glory defy all description standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me calling me by name and said, pointing to the other, ‘This is my beloved son, hear Him.’ Brother and Sister Cook, I know that Joseph saw God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ. Missionary 1: I too know that God called Joseph Smith to be a prophet to bring back the full gospel and blessings of Jesus Christ. He also brought forth an evidence of this in a book of scripture called the Book of Mormon, something that you can read. You can pray about and know that what we're teaching is true. Will you allow us to return and teach more of this message with you and your family? Elder Ballard: Now did you feel the power of the message? That was presented in less than four minutes. Once missionaries in this church know how to do this, we will see far more convert baptisms because it's the Spirit and the power of the Holy Ghost that becomes ultimately the teacher.

i wonder why missionaries dont teach what else was said in the first vision account? Maybe its because there is actually 4 contradictory visions from Joseph Smith? I also wonder why they dont teach *how* the gold plates were translated aswell, or how the witnesses "saw" them. Maybe its because that too, has changed 🤔

The discussions are different from the 1990s. Back then there were six lessons before baptism. The first lesson included Jesus, Joseph Smith, the First Vision, and the Book of Mormon. The elders then left some scriptures to read for the second appointment.

This is a false Gospel no sin and repentance at all and no scriptures we're mentioned. Galatians 1:-6-9 this is not the gospel at all.

Amen. I was born and raised in the LDS Church. I went on a mission. Then, one night when I realized that I had no power to live worthily (I was convicted by the Law), I prayed for God to show me the way. By the power of the Holy Spirit, the Voice of the Lord Jesus came to me and said "I have taken care of everything for you." I responded with confusion because His words contradicted most of what I had been taught and preached on my mission. The Voice came once more and said, "In time, you will understand." Since then, the Mormon Gospel has not moved my heart at all. It sounds like the preaching of Islam. The teaching of wise Jewish rabbis comes close, but now that I've tasted of heaven, nothing else satisfies. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ... Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit. (1 Peter 3:18) In the moment when Jesus died, he said, "It has been finished." I believe Him. (John 19:30)
