HOW TO TEACH FETCH! STEP BY STEP!
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
What's up everyone!
This video breaks down step by step how to PROPERLY train your dog to bring a toy back to you! Some dogs will do this with zero training, thanks to their GENETICS! BUT, most dogs need to be trained to understand this interaction, especially if they are not a retriever!

Lets Gooooo my brotha. True professional. My female Rottie pup of 15 months has come a long way using a lot of your knowledge and techniques. My relationship with my Rottie is very solid which makes training easier and less boring (she follows me almost everywhere) . She has a good foundation and now it's time to take it to the next level layering with the ecollar. Thanks kid

@AndyKrueger
Жыл бұрын
@@marymoore1375 I understand. But would however disagree. ‘Pulling’ or lack of leash manners has nothing to do with age. It is simply a lack of training and communication between dog and handler. Dogs do not wake up one day and have leash manners, it is a learned skill 🙏🏼

@@AndyKrueger I just got her a month ago so I do not think the previous owners took her out for walks I do that each day
@AndyKrueger
Жыл бұрын
@@marymoore1375 Even if they did walk her, that has nothing to do with training heel. In fact, regular walks without a skilled handler/ trainer can be even more detrimental to training than if she was never walked. I recommend taking at least 3 months to build a conflict free heel, then begin the process of proofing! 🙏🏼
My dog plays fetch well but never runs the item into me, I always wondered how to get that finishing OOMPH in that I see from trainers. Thanks for the tip!!

Hi Andy , which size of the ball do You prefer for mal or GSD, the smaller 7cm or the bigger 9cm ? Thanks a lot for great video !!!
Andy, is it normla for a 6 month puppy to be afraid of dogs barking at him when we pass by houses with dogs? Does it mean the dog will be. Coward when it comes to protection work?
@AndyKrueger
Жыл бұрын
This is not a cause for concern and doesn’t mean the pup won’t grow to be brave. It’s not the ideal, but is not out of the ordinary. Make sure to keep as much distance as possible and hand feed on walks only. This will make you valuable and change the course of the dog’s attention 👍🏻

Do u have a link for that ball with cord?? Or a bame of the product
I bought one of these balls, I have a treat type that my malinois loves, and when I hover the ball around her she wants nothing to do with it to even try step 1 in the video :(
Hay Andy do you hve a training video for purchase?

So when I’m using a ball or tug as a obedience reward and I ask my dog to center or heel he will try to jump on me for the toy first which I discourage, should I ignore this behaviour until after I’m having the jump with the retrieval?

You can discourage but with negative punishment, not positive punishment 👍🏻

Awesome video. So I have an 8 month old Standard Poodle who I kinda messed up teaching fetch due to not having a line on him. He would still bring it back(when he was younger)as he would gets treats but other times he would run around and taunt me with it. Now at 8 months..he's kinda inconsistent in bringing it to me..sometimes he brings it..other times he drops it couple feet away..and other times he chills and wants to possess and bite the toy. Is it to late to reverse this to get a solid fetch?
@AndyKrueger
Жыл бұрын
It is not too late, however, will take a tremendous amount of perfectly done work to change this. The overall lifestyle of the dog plays a big role too 🙏🏼

@@AndyKrueger we train everyday..not sure what lifestyles means. He definitely loves the game as he knows when it's time to go play and grabs the toy. I guess I'll be super strict with it now and put him on the longline. Thank you!

What would be your next step if you gave the dog a toy and he/she took it away as soon as they got it and possessed it away from you?
She’s definitely not enthusiastic about bringing it. Do you predict that will change with repetition?
