If you are struggling with taking photos for your eBay listings, don't! You may be overthinking things and wasting a whole bunch of time doing things that aren't really necessary in the whole scheme of eBay reselling. All you really need are photos that show the buyer what they are getting. Don't get caught up in all the hype about equipment, editing, and removing backgrounds.
Here are the photography best practices from eBay to help guide you along as you sell on eBay. Find eBay's guide here:

You are so right Suzanne. I am new and did buy 2 light kits . Now I take pics on my carport which is open and lots of natural light. It works so much better. The colors are much truer which I believe is very important. During bad weather I will drag out the lights again. I think pics serve as a record of your item for protection as well so I take sides and special features as well. Thank you again.
Hi Suzanne, with all of your videos, at the end, I am left with more knowledge than I had before I viewed them. Thank you.
Another awesome video. The pictures are SO important! I use 12 for all of my listings. It also brings you up in search, and helps the buyer determine if they want to buy it. They see YOU took the time to take 12 pictures, not just 1, and that you are not hiding anything. Happy selling 🤑
Thank you so very much! Just starting this so your tips help me so much.
Thank you Suzanne! Very helpful!

Great Info!Thanks for sharing..
Oh yes, super helpful. I want to keep my costs low, but quality of product and photos high. I use a trouble light from my husbands shop and a couple strong desk lamps, plus the natural morning light. Some photos at times have a yellow tinge so will follow through on your tips for both higher photo resolution and the auto white balance. And I love, love, love, how your videos are well organized and to the point. A million thanks.
Suzanne, your input is always such a breath of fresh air! A lot of this IS common sense, or should be, but it's so easy to get overwhelmed by the bad advice out there. Now that I'm more experienced, it honestly bewilders me how many so-called experts tell amateur sellers that they need to have a full blown fashion photo shoot with a dressmaker's mannequin for each and every clothing item they list. Unfortunately, I'm one of the many who believed I had to "spend money to make money," and made a significant investment in an elaborate and somewhat comical lighting rig. What was I thinking? Natural light is always a million times better than artificial light - even expensive artificial light. I wish I'd been able to see this video a year and a half ago! But I still appreciate hearing your thoughts on all of this. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you!
GREAT INFO

Great video
great tips from what sounds like an experienced seller!
I am so grateful for these videos. Learning so much! I know I'm only this far into the beginners playlist but I'm considering listing my first several items today. I've got the oddest assortment of items due to my scenario so hopefully that variety will guarantee sales! Wish me luck!

Great! I not sure if you have a video on "how long will it take for my item to sell". I put my first "stuff" up about a week ago, have a lot of views, but no one buying yet. I think I have done a good job of listing. Thank you so much for everything !!!
If there is a flaw, defect, snag, etc on the item, I write in the Condition box - See last photo for defect. I also put it in my description.
Love your videos! I am hooked and learning so much!! If it's a plus or large size item on a medium dress form do you pin the back or shoulders so that it looks better for the picture or do you just let it hang naturally?

Hey Deb! Welcome! Yes, I use clothespins to make the garment look flattering on the mannequin. You should also include measurements so the buyer will know if it will fit them. Happy selling!
I use an iPad air 2. I don't edit pictures. I do take photos at several angles on a plain linen dress maker style manni. I found her at a resale store luckily. The manni is better than my hanging plastic ones (that I struggled with for 3 years) because I can pin things to it much easier. I have a dark screen in the back of it. I take pictures on a day with good diffused daylight near a window. For me sun coming in late morning early afternoon from an east facing window works best in my house. I detest using artificial light. Hands down my pictures are best in natural light.
Super thoughtful, insightful tips on all of your videos! I especially appreciate the emphasis on not getting overwhelmed initially, saving time and getting the job DONE! Thank you!!! :)
Thanks! Was really helpful.
Quick question, with selling clothing, how important is using a mannequin??? Where do you even find one? Lol, obviously I am a newbie! I absolutely love your videos, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
