I agree that softening the boot with the grease is a consideration thats important, its also one of the benefits of the lundhags style of boot with the "rubber" lower. It will keep some stability even tho the upper is getting softer. I like grease for water protection the best but I only use it for this kind of boot. For a full leather boot I only use wax. This makes this kind of boot really shine when your out in the field for a longer time with limited ability to dry it out

I'm now retired. I haven't seen my custom made Limmer boots for 30 years. I found them cleaning out junk in the basement. I stopped cleaning out junk. I went and bought some saddle soap and a tin of conditioning paste. There look great after all these years. I also found my 45 year old jump boots from the Army and took care of them too.

Gjorde du någon recension på kängorna? Jag har beställt modellen Forest II som verkar vara en mer light version av Professional (samma läst o yttersula). Antar att Professional ger mer stöd. Är du nöjd med kängorna?

Hej, kul att du skriver. Nej tyvärr det har inte blivit någon recension än. Ja det stämmer bra. Den modell du beställt är lättare och 1-lagers och professional är 3-lagers. Borde ju ge mer stöd. Är de bästa kängorna jag haft, förutom som jag nämner i videon bytt sulorna till version II pga konstruktionsfel av Lundhags. Använder man dem mycket så kommer man slita hål i dem långt innan själva sulorna under är slut. Det kostade mig 950:- att åtgärda. Och nu sitter som skrivet version II på där tåskyddet går högre upp. Lundhags borde vara medvetna och erbjuda ett bättre bytespris i dessa fallen. Hoppas du blir nöjd. Övertygad att Forrest är en riktigt bra känga. Mvh Kent

Modeller Forest och Vandra är skalkängor (gjorda av ofodrad läder). De är lite lättare och gjorda enligt det ursprungliga Lundhags konceptet, tror jag. Professional har tre lager:det yttre är läder, Ariaprenen i mitten och läder som foder. Professional är tjockare och tyngre men stabila och sköna. Jag är oklar över skillnaden på läst Opti kontra Regular. Det känns tvärtom för mig mot vad beskrivningen säger. Har ni någon uppfattning om deras läst?

They are as good as new. I have Lundhags now too.

Nice, but according to Lundhags you shouldn't apply the grease on the cellular rubber. From their website: "Ensure that your boots are well impregnated if you plan to not use them for a while. The cellular rubber, however, should not be proofed"

@@KentKirjonen No worries. I'm not sure how much it matters. Just stumbled across the info. I had my professional for 17 years, but unfortunately they shrunk and I can no longer use them. They look like bananas. Maybe they should've still be fine if I looked after them better 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@edc641 🙂 probably ok, but I guess it could react differently with different maker of grease. I will investigate a bit before I make a new one in the future. But that’s strange that they deformed after that many years. But were they very dry in the leather, got soaked and dried it could probably be an issue. I would then try to use some neatsfoot oil or mink oil liquid in order to rehydrate on the depth before the normal procedure. Take care!
