Okay, so, I took it apart and oiled/moved the eye motor and it works. But sometimes it stops so I have to redo it. Any tips?

@@rhysblatherwick625 sorry for this extremely late reply but what I recommend is getting some WD40 contact cleaner which is much better at getting the job done then just standard oil

yeah the 12 inch one is glued up like fort knox in the mid section.... bought one dirt cheap for key parts and didnt expect it would need a heat gun ended up taking a hacksaw to it in frustration 😢....actually the 12 inch one needs the glue melting on the two mid skirt back sections....I'm putting the cut pieces together to study it....maybe I will make a video but I was more than prepared to sacrifice one costing about a tenner for parts

I got 12" with damage eye stalk. At first I thought I could solder it together but I'm unfamiliar if can be mended. So let me know if they can be mended?

My dalek is making the exact same sound at 2:47 does that mean it's broke or working

I just got an 18 inch Dalek supreme and the eyestalks is bent and I would like to know if it is possible to remove it as I know you can with the bronze Dalek (18 inch) but I don’t want to brake the eyestalk as I’ve looked around on sites and I cannot find a replacement eyestalk for any of the 18 inch Daleks

Yes you can remove it. I suggest NOT pulling it by the end price and removing it gently. If it is bent you can use the boiling water technique but leave it 24 hours to dry out in rice if possible for the electronics to dry out

Hello there buddy , just found my old 18inch bronze Dalek. Brill. But opened up the battery box. Disaster it had been stored with batteries installed. Can you replace the contacts in the battery box???

Use white vinegar or lemon juice to try cleaning the contacts before attempting that

Any tips on taking apart and repairing one of the 13" Paradigm Daleks? I got one off eBay, and it seems like the mechanics have gone a bit wrong. There's a lot of annoying clunking and clicking when you try using it.

I've never taken one of those apart so I'm sure, but the issue could be that the gears are not connecting properly with the motors

@@6sek That's one of my theories. I just haven't got a clue about how to begin deconstructing the thing without throwing it at a wall!

Hello Hope you can help with loss of sound. All other functions work and Dalek is hearing voice commands via the lights communicators .Do have the part number for replacement speaker please.

Great video I have started to take a few 18" apart and this was great to see where those hidden screws are it saved me sometime. I will be doing a major take apart to repair the eye and the head rotate and fix a non working ray gun. I belong to this site were you can see the progress as the weeks go by. The contract pins may be corroded, you can clean them with white vinegar with a cotton bud. Also check to make sure that the pins are making good contact with the eye.

@@6sek eye stalk is hard to move up and down, do you think motor gear box issues model functioned every month. Not a toy, first time eye Stalk as stopped moving

@@paulgriffiths6237 sounds like the motors could use some wd40 but I would try gently moving the eye up and down while pressing it on the remote because this sometimes works

The voice control feature on mine has stopped working, it just no longer hears my voice :/ any suggestions?

The Dalek has 3 voice sensors. Top of head and left/right side of head see if you can talk close to them. Also make sure battery is new.

@@bdrpaty3399 Also at times if the Dalek has problems with the batteries still inside for some time remove the batteries wait a few seconds and reinstall the batteries. This happened to me once and after in redid the battery all started to work again.

@@oliver_burnell8684 These Interactive Daleks if not used over time need to have the battery removed if not they will need to be rebooted by removing the batteries and reinstalling them. If possible locate eye/gun for better function if not the Dalek may act up again over time they seen to look for what is not! I have taken them apart totally and they are so fun to deal with. See bottom of shown page 32 what a fun Dalek they are and as always thanks to 6sek for getting me interested with the Interactive Daleks. alphadrome.net/forums/topic/8868-robotos-robots-on-display/?page=32

So... I gotta ask. I just bought an 18" bronze from Ebay, sealed...brand new. I wanted the seller to open it up and test functionality but he wouldn't becos " it'll lose value blah blah"... anyway I bought it and..... the dome and eye stalk are completely dead. I mean there's no sound of whiny motor or anything...just doesn't work. Anyone wanna offer an opinion on what may be the problem? It's brand new so wear, corrosion, stuck motor doesn't seem likely. Anything else it could be? Hey, anyone wanna do a repair for y'know a fee to be agreed?. I have NO skills in that area... plus...bad eyesight. I know the seller won't take a return and I dread getting into a 3-way battle between him, me and Ebay. Any infos gratefully received.

@@6sek OK... firstly, thanks for replying so quickly! Secondly....I am an old fart in mid 60s... old enuff to have watched Bill Hartnell as the very first Doctor. I have NO CLUE how to use Twitter. What does DM mean? I mean, I now have an account I just started but I don't know what you need from me. Only camera I have is the webcam at top of the laptop. No camera phone. What sort of photo would you need from me?. I mean, it's brand new, I opened it no more than 3 hours ago, so I don't know what sort of photo would tell you anything. Sorry for being so techno challenged.🤔

@@barrieday6552 Ok, so I'll try to talk you through it. 1. is check the battery contacts for corrosion. If they're corroded used cotton buds soaked in white vinegar to clean it off (may take a while). 2. Check the the AA batteries are making good contact and that the same with the D batteries. 3. Try wiggling the on/off switch as sometimes they can be become misaligned. If still nothing turns on at all let me know.

@@6sek Ok, thanks, I'm just gonna go through that checklist BUT you should know that it's functional as far as movement is concerned. Works perfectly, so I don't know that wiggling the on/off switch is relevant....and if the battery contacts were iffy would I get any movement at all?. I'm wondering if sitting in a cupboard or whatever for 15 years , the motors have just frozen from non-use.

Ok, the battery contacts are all shiny and new and as I mentioned, the little fella (well, BIG fella!) moves around fine, so really no battery issues. The on/off switch is not an issue😒.

Voice interactive 18 inch will not respond to remote control , how can I get him to respond to remote control , do you have to press button a few times, let me know thank you Alan

The frequency of the dalek and your remote may be different it will be either 40mhz or 27mhz
