Rinn kit colors sometimes confuse me but I remember: Blue is anterior because you drink blue water. Yellow is posterior because you pee yellow. And red is between because your body is filled with red blood.

Thank you so much for this video!! I am a dental hygiene student on my 1st semester and tomorrow, I'll have to do a FMS, vertical BTW. A trick that helps me a lot in the premolar shot is to place the notch of the bite block in the middle of the 2nd premolar, that way I get the distal of the canine and the mesial of the max. 1st premolar. And to get a good shot of the molars, I place the notch of the bite block between the 2nd & 3rd molar. I hope that helps! :)

Amen. I hated plates. They take forever , longer than regular films in my opinion. Their images are better than digital but they take a lot of time to deal with. Outer wrap, inner wrap. Undoing all of that, placing them on scanner. Keeping them out of bright light when you have to re-wrap them....a pain.

So, is this considered digital x ray? I had this done and the dentist office said it was....

Maybe they don't want the speed image quality of sensors ? Maybe they don't know the difference ?

Films is a generic term. They are called phosphor plates due to the phosphor material that reacts to X Rays. They are not cheap (300 or 500), nor is the scanner either. Bottom line is most offices use a digital sensor connected to a computer, time sharing the sensor between chairs.

Wonder what the ecological impact of plates and their covers are . Makes you wonder if you appeared on Dragons Den trying to pitch this stuff !
