Dear, thank you for this video !!!! This method worked so good. sandwiched a large quilt on my table. Would never have thought to start with the batting and it is the solution. You are very clever. I didn't use safety pins. Just made a roll of the quilt and basted it with a needle and thread. Than you, thank you, thank you. And you are a lovely person to watch and listen to.

This has saved me, with a recent knee replacement surgery getting on the floor was not an option. I inherited a kwik klip in my mom's quilting stuff after she passed and had no idea what it was for, I had never seen her use it. It makes pinning so much easier. As a life time sewer, a new quilter learning all kinds of wonderful new things. Thank you

Love this method...as one with arthritic knees, making use of the floor out of the question! I make small charity quilts..(lap size, etc.) and have been using a similar method on my cutting table. I glue-baste the top and batting, then attach (quilt) them on my machine, using a curvy decorative stitch that gives the appearance of free-motion quilting ...the backing then gets attached, flipped right side out envelope style, and the edges get a double row of topstitching to simulate a binding. I have been using this method ever since I saw Jenny Doan of Missouri Star make a tote bag that way in a video tutorial. Not sure if larger quilts would be as easy though. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Great tutorial Nikki. Thanks so much. 👍🏻

I don't have the floor or table space (we don't have a dining table) so I asked the library one day if I could borrow their large meeting room with several tables to make my quilt sandwich and the answer was YES. Just had to go online and book the room. I was able to six tables together (three across and two deep). I used pool noodles to roll each layer on. Spray basted and pin basted. Went home and quilted. Some quilt shops will let you use their space. A hotel may allow you to book a meeting room. Michael's may let you borrow their space. Just more suggestions for those that are in very small space like me.

I'm very excited to try this. I made my youngest daughter and her husband a king + quilt and there's no way I can get all of it under the machine and paying to have it quilted is not in the budget. I've had the top finished for a few weeks and I found extra wide cotton do I don't have to seam the back. I hate the pinning, I feel like I never get it right, but we just inherited a table that's 8 or 10' long so I think this will work. I was thinking of tying it, but not sure I will like it. It's a kind if pinwheel so lots if seams to follow. You really make this easy to understand. You don't get super sidetracked or go so fast I can't follow. Thank you so so much!
