How to Systematically Simplify GTO: From Beginners to Experts

Ойындар

After many requests, we have decided to produce a 4 part series of in-depth tutorial videos for GTOx. This video is a sneak peek at the 2nd part of the series, highlighting GTOx's philosophy of scalable simplification of solver outputs. Much of the content contained in these videos will be based on concepts already discussed in my prior KZread videos (and the GTOx Blueprint), so these tutorials will be posted in full at solveforwhy.io/.
For some of you, collaborating with S4Y may seem like a bit of an odd pairing, given that they primarily focus on the live realm, where people tend to be very imbalanced, playing far away from optimal. I would argue that these are the exact types of players that would benefit the most from learning basic, fundamentally sound strategies. And there is no better way to learn fundamentally sound strategies than by using a solver.
Also, although S4Y generously offered a fee, I decided to forego any payment for these videos so that they could eventually be posted for free after the last part in the series is released. So if you are interested in watching the full vids for free you can watch them at solveforwhy.io/ after the final video in the series is released.

    Just checked on S4Y that these videos are not available without subscription, which would be inconsistent with the kind of deal u had. Can you then make them public? I'd like to learn more Thanks for GTOx and amazing content!

    The trouble one with solver strategies is that they are complicated by layers upon layers of deception. It’s designed to confuse an opponent so it’s confusing for anyone trying to implement it. All you really need to do is is strip away the deception to learn the underlying strategies, then just add in layers of deception one at a time based on the strength of your opponent. Some opponents are so bad, you don’t need the deception. Just implement the base strategy.

    Will it ever be possible to view the pre-solved sims in the GTOx viewer? I would love to learn this way because can't see all the amazing UI in simple Postflop.

    They likely go up on flop and turn, since you're less likely to have your equity denied, but then go down on the river since your opponent arrives to the river when a higher percentage of stronger hands.

    The concept of EV regret is flawed. The fatal assumption is not factoring in the adjustment that can be made by the opponent to a pure strategy vs mixed. EV regret is probably the min that you will lose and max can be a lot!

  • @FindingEquilibrium

    @FindingEquilibrium

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, I explicitly mention this flaw in this video, in the GTOx Blueprint and in other videos in the past. But is there a better alternative? Can you memorize all GTO frequencies? No, you can't. So they must be simplified right? The reality is (1) other humans will find it very hard to exploit small frequency imbalances and (2) a large EV mistake is worse than a small EV mistake, which EV Regret objectively measures. So until someone comes up with a better method to simplify the impossibly complex solver strategies, we will stick with EV Regret.

    Poker is a game of complete but imperfect information. poker has perfect information = false poker has complete information = true I'm being nitpicky but this has been upsetting me for a while now.

    I want to see you play some poker and succeed. Do what GTO says many times over when your instinct says another, with your own money, and lets see the results.
