Hi techie, Recently I am going through this scenario where my manager is assigning task from different different stacks but I told him I should not waste my time learning 4-5 stacks at the same time, instead I should focus learning 2-3 stacks and master them over the time. My manager didn't like it and sticked to his approach. So I left my stable job and joined in another company. I am not sure if I have done the right thing or I should keep learning multiple stacks same time. I feel like companies looks for a developer who can master particular stacks well, somebody who can work on multiple stacks but don't have deep knowladge, is it going to be beneficial for him?

As per my knowledge company look for flexibility and adaptibility to work No manager force to learn 4-5 stack , what is 4-5 stack ?? Too be best in one and good in all always works So if you think somebody learning n no of technology at time is not gonna hlp then let me correct you my dear friend there is no such task sooo tough that need only professional knowledge ...until it's architect work As a developer if you are good in multiple then it's good that you can work on anything wherever there is more work Suppose I am backend developer only and in some sprint there is soo much of frontend work then are gonna say I am master in backend I can only do that ?? Or you will show your flexibility to work If you work for company wthr it's 2,3,4 stack it will be too much for you But if you work for youself these stack will have no numbers mean you will learn and move

@@TechieLifestyle Yeah, I agree. If manager is from non technical background,.then you are gonna face this scenario. Backend+ frontend is completely fine. But if a manager ask to learn .net, java, nodejs, python, ,php, bla bla then its wastage of time. Because when u mention I have 5 years of working experience in java+ angular, the employeer will ask you questions based on that level. In that case you won't be able to answer because u spent ur time learning someother stacks. And yeah, most of the case, you will be assigned to solve very very simple things. Complex and complicated things are taken care of by team lead/senior persons.

Hi dear thanks. I want to ask one thing. I also started my jobs in Cognizant and after working for 5 years , I had to switch company due to personal issues. I joined this company 1.5 years ago as a full stack developer. They hired me by asking questions about ny previous experience and testing my knowledge in Java. But my current work is not based on Java but more on Low code tools and products. I am not liking the low code tools or environment because I am more interested in coding and cloud whiu was my previous company experience. . I was doing good in Java in previous company but I have forgotten thay in current company and my skills are not good in any of it .... I want to learn Python and get back into Programing job. How can I do that ?? Shud I change my resume and try to search jobs in some other companies or shud I try to stick wth low code tools and give some more time to my current role itself ??

Chane your resume and look for the job you're interested in. Cus the next person isn't working with you and don't know what have u done in previous company so best is u can learn the skills and apply for the role you're interested

Hi Amita, I joined TCS in March, 2022. I wanted Python/Data analyst role but I am assigned to a Java support role. I don't have much knowledge about java as I've been learning Python since my College. I requested my team lead to change the profile, but he didn't. I am not interested in this profile, but I have to complete 1 year. Right now, I am brushing up my Data Analytics skills while working on my project, and I am thinking to resign in Dec, 22. One option would definitely be , do master mba and be manager. Switching after 7 to different technologies is not soo easy. But yeah you can switch companies to get good hike...

Its same like System engineer role in TCS or any other service based company... Basically they will assign you any random technology or domain according to their requirements... And will also provide you with basic training on that technology.... Eg - Testing domain , Support Domain , Development Domain ( not completely development ... Keep in mind that u r a fresher ) , Internet Security or any domain according to requirements .... All the Best Mate !!!
