I bought a pair of clear lenses from him and they fit perfectly :-) The outer ring is damn hard to get back on, but I found out, that it helps to fit it near the nose part and then press the rest of it against a flat surface (table). It popped right in to place :-)

Kolby W I got the lenses from eBay, they’re ‘airsoft proof’ lenses which were available in many colors

I know this is an old video but im 16 and i just ordered a pair of smoke lenses for my fm12 and plan to use it for a thatcher cosplay. this video will help me a lot when i install the lenses, thanks man!

Kolby W seller on eBay ships them from UK. Just any search of fm12 or s10 airsoft lenses on eBay and you find them. Hope this helped!

It would be able to protect against gas, if you've got an airtight seal with the lenses. Unless it's made out of that flexible stuff they put on certain panoramic gas masks, it should be fine.

When we talk about "rated for gas" we are referring to resistance to corrosives and solvents, and lack of porosity. Many types of gasses can actually permeate many types of plastics. That's not ideal when you're talking something that has the potential to kill you. Obviously, most people will never use their mask in a genuinely dangerous situation, but that doesn't change the facts of the matter.

If I were to take off the orginal polycarbonate lenses and apply them later would the seal still be air tight?

the lenses are perfectly fine for gas. as long as the lenses are sealed around the ridge (the replacements are a perfect fit) and all the fittings of the outer rings are tight it would be fine. polycarb is used on gas mask lenses and visors all the time

Would it make a seal after the replacement or would taking out the originals damage the seal?

@@beanos2287 as long as the lenses fit in the frame it seals. If you're really worried get Airsoft outserts instead. That leaves the seal intact

@@beanos2287 i havent had a problem with them after testing with banana oil. obviously if youre in a profession or role where you might reasonably expect to come into contact with dangerous chemicals just get the official lenses or a new mask. but if youre a prepper/collector you shouldnt have an issue with the airsoft ones. they are flat however and the stock ones are concaved

Alright, so if I remove the stock lenses and then place the same stock lenses back in, will the seal reform and be safe to use in a tactical scenario once more?

@@ShellShock11C there's actually someone on eBay who sells acrylic tinted lens that are 3D printed, they just snap on over top the lenses without any issue and keep the seal. They work and look great!

I'm sorry to inform you but normal gas masks aren't made for air soft and don't take being hit with small projectiles very well.
