6 weeks postpartum! This 4th trimester has been harder for me than birth and pregnancy. No one told me about hemorrhoids, the pelvic floor, and s*x after is so painful! And breastfeeding is so hard and just becoming a new women and trying to get along with my husband. Good thing is I am almost 7 weeks and feeling 100x better and enjoying my new life!😊

Glad you're adjusting now. It takes a while and more time than ppl think. It definitely makes you a different woman overall. Thats how I felt with my first...everyone asks what was harder birth or pregnancy and I always say postpartum/afterbirth lol. I'm dreading going through it again (32 weeks)

I am 1yr postpartum. I have some lingering issues with leaking (when I cough or sneeze) and constipation. I've never liked drinking a lot of water, so that's probably half my problem. Something I think you could mention - I didn't find out about until it happened to me - is milk glands not in your boob. I have a couple in my armpit and it was super uncomfortable and I had to "turn them off" with some ice. I looked up information and found a couple of stories with women who have it worse and they're the size of like a golf ball or something. Nipple soreness is a great tip. I hadn't thought about it. I took a couple days break and pumped, or only fed from one and pumped the other, to help mine heal. Eventually the baby got better at it, and I got better at offering my boob too, and everything improved. I might add, if you don't have it in another video, some tips for breastfeeding babies after they get teeth. Luckily, I was able to ask a lactation consultant with the pediatrician what I should do if the baby bit me and how to get them off. At 1yr old and with 6 teeth now, I've only been intentionally bitten a few times and the baby learned quickly I would take the boob away if I was bitten (and if it happened more than once I wouldn't offer it back). Another thing that was stressed in baby classes I took was frustration/anger management. I never had an issue with my baby, but the nurses talked about when babies are fussing a lot that it's okay to lay them down and step away if you feel too frustrated to hold them. (To prevent baby shaking injuries.) They also mentioned keeping a hand on the baby when using a changing table so they don't fall off because even newborns are strong and could make themselves fall. I also really think self-care needs to be stressed. Your partner may want sex right after whatever limit is set by the doctors (6wks when I had mine), but definitely listen to your body. It's okay to make your partner wait a little longer. And don't be afraid to be bossy, if you need to, with the housework. They tell you not to pick up anything heavier than your baby.

Great video! I’ve been watching your videos through your my whole pregnancy which help me prepare my journey to motherhood. I’m 13 days post partum. Had my baby girl on st. Pattys day via scheduled C-section, she was breech. I gotta say the first week was tough but I’m lucky since the recovery seems to be going very well for me. I haven’t really felt those post partum cramps maybe because of the pain medications I was taking. Anyway, this whole experience is so wonderful. I love being a new mom and all the feelings and emotions that come with it. My husband and I are so blessed and grateful and our family couldn’t be any happier that there’s a new member of the family. ❤❤thank you for these videos!

I'm 4 months postpartum and I honestly feel like the 4th trimester should be for 6 months when exclusive breastfeeding is done because it is such a demanding time. I don't think one can ever be prepared for what's to come. As soon as I feel I'm adjusting, the whole "schedule" scatters and I'm back to square 1. It is a truly challenging time just that everytime I see my baby, I'm so happy and it's totally worth it.

I'm so grateful for your channel, helped me with my pregnancy and labor. I was confident and knew what to do but after the baby arrived....that first 3 months I was still good but afterwards I fell into depression and it got worst. It was weird how I got fat and had not motivation or time to work out, I have a baby daddy but he worked so much I felt and was alone and it felt like I was a single mother. I wished my mom was alive cz she was going to help me. But with all my sisters away from me, it felt weird cause I helped them with all their kids when they had babies, but not one of them came to help me. The depression got worst cause I couldn't afford nanny and my baby didn't want to go to anyone due to the lack of ppl around. So It was hard leaving him with ppl, he would cry if I take him out into public cause of car noise and all. But I spoke to my partner so many times about his family who stays more close to me but not visiting. It was so confusing cz he created reasons and I felt resentment when they do come cz they would expect me to play strong mom and making tea and stuff n I didn't want help with them around me, I wanted help knowing my baby is away from me a bit but coming back later and also knowing my baby is happy. But with my child crying so much by them, I never felt like I can rest. My sleep was bad for a whole year.... my son is 1 now and going to daycare Monday. So I'm happy to sleep, he loves his dad, ppl and outdoors now, his super funny and r my main joy. I'd say, motherhood only became joyful now. I'm getting sleep again and can go out and I feel like the depression is ending. But now I'm having daycare anxiety cause I'm so use to my baby and don't know how to deal with him away from me and if they will understand him, will he be OK with other kids. But I trust in God and in my baby he showed immense confidence, I feel like I'm the one who needs counseling on how to deal with being without him😊

The advice that was given to me which I failed to take quite seriously enough was to really let people take care of you afterwards. It sounds silly but for some reason I wanted to be a hero and still try to do laundry and things but no one is ever going to take care of you again the way they take care of you after your first child so you better drink it in. You're bleeding will slow faster if you stay in bed and any damage will heal quicker. Don't lift anything heavy and focus on taking care of your body. Once you're a Mother you're a Mother and the baby is in charge. While they're still a newborn and can't do much and everyone's excited for you and wants to bring you food you need to let them for real. I know not everyone has a support system so it's not always possible but if people want to help you just really try to soak it up. It doesn't matter if someone puts towels away in the wrong spot or buys the wrong brand or something just let people help you. You will have the whole rest of your life to run the show and right now your only job is to heal and bond and feed. Have faith in your body. There will be discomfort and there will be challenges and you may have residual concerns to follow up on but at the end of the day our bodies are amazing at bouncing back you just need to give yourself grace. I'm not a doctor so it's probably not cool to say this but personally (perhaps misguided) I believe that we're a little more protected from postpartum depression if we go into the fourth trimester with a flexible mindset. If you have hard and fast ideas about how things will look you're more likely to be very upset when they change. This is not a slam against anyone who is experienced postpartum because I know it's not within our control, it's just that if you roll with it and recognize that the road is different for every single woman regardless of what anyone tells you then you will find your own journey and meet yourself there and learn tons along the way. Do not spend time comparing your body before to your body after.... Later on when you return to exercise and all that sure but for now it will be a big sloppy s*** show for a minute and you just need to soak up those newborn days because you can never get them back and it doesn't really matter that you're sweating uncontrollably and smell bad 5 minutes after you shower and all the other little weird things no one tells you because they are temporary and your baby is here to stay. I guess I should add a disclaimer on this that I didn't suffer from highly controlling unwanted family members interfering and I've heard horror stories where people have that going on so if that's your situation do not feel like you can't set boundaries just because of what I said. I was lighter on the assistant side as I had my child during lockdown so people being heavy-handed with me wasn't something I experienced and I'm sure that gave me a bias. If you have a hellish mother-in-law or something like that don't feel like you can't draw lines in the sand or early and hard or later on as needed. You got this, You are powerful, You're going to be an amazing Mother ❤️

Didn't bother me much in my first pregnancy but after and until now 😢 Already using my 'cold & warm' pack. Sneezing always comes two ways too!! It's have been 3 weeks since I vomited last. But hey ladies, there's nothing we didn't survive until now, still a lot to go. We are creating the furniture! Milk cheers for that!!

I got miraculously pregnant with lean pcos after 7 years..we weren't even actively trying..im 34 going on 35 yo. I've struggled with so many fears you read about like pcos having higher chances of pregnancy loss, GD, preeclampsia, etc. None of it has happened. I did have a hard time w hormones when i had none before. Ive slept through my whole pregnancy and eaten a lot. My biggest complaint is being out of breath since first trimester with no anemia, getting exhausted after 1 hour on my feet, and a bit of hyperemesis during first trim that was disabling to me figuratively. Also the pelvic girdle pain and neck pain sometimes. At 34 weeks pregnant, I cant wait to pop baby out. Fingers crossed it all goes well and that I survive 4th trimester 😮 mood has been a struggle for me all pregnancy and I do have a history of hormonal induced depression and anxiety (w birth control, pms, etc hits me hard). I took lemon balm and it has got me under control with almost 0 crying whereas I was crying every single day and panicking abt everything before it. Apparently it's pregnancy safe.

I’m 10 weeks postpartum and I’m still spotting red blood and brown. It’s not heavy enough to cover a pad or a tampon. I guess you can bleed up to 12 weeks? I quit for a couple of days then it comes right back. Brown first then red, then brown. That’s the only thing that’s driving me crazy. I had a c section and YES the constipation is bad! I have to take fiber supplements and stool softeners. Aww hey hubby! That was cute. I have a good support system due to having my husband help me everyday. I couldn’t do it without him.

Postpartum is a journey for sure one thing I wished I would have been kinder to myself with my first child and not feel like I had to do everything. Give yourself grace you just had a freaking baby lol and there is no snap back because “back” is something you will never have again but you have this new beautiful body that you will learn to love nurture and enjoy. Also establishing breastfeeding was hard for me due to my daughters lip and tongue tie but once that was fixed it took 3 months for things to get rhythmic. You got this mamas!

Hi Diana. Watched your videos weekly all throughout my pregnancy journey. Thanks for doing what you do. Is it normal to have bloatness and pass gas constantly? Had my baby via Caesarean and my biggest bother was passing wind constantly for like the first 3 months. I was always gassy no matter what I ate, always bloated and preferred being alone in my room with my baby since I couldn't keep running to the toilet every 5 minutes. Am ok now at 6 months postpartum 😁

No one is talking about traumatic births??? I had the absolute worst experience of my life.. everything went wrong despite my extensive knowledge and, research. I did everything right during my pregnancy and researched every post pardom thing that could ever happen. I was forced into labor before I needed to be. 2 days of constant teams trying to put an IV in . 3 epidurals . Despite me saying no over and over they made me push in my back for hours . Days later they rushed me into a c section and baby was completely stuck In the canal so the midwife had to come back into the room to try to lodge baby back up while the c section doctor made the insicion bigger and was stretching out my insides I could feel everything and was passing out and screaming in pain. That’s the jist of it . I was in the hospital for 8 days after and now it’s 4 weeks later and I can hardly walk . I am in severe pain and think they really messed me up.. I need help and advice
