Lydia, quiz us!! A fun video would be you posing in a series of different outfits, but put three different pairs of shoes with each outfit. Ask the viewer to pick, then announce the best choice and say why. You kind of do that already, but I feel ready for my knowledge to be tested!

This is really helpful. I think I remember in a previous video you talked about sometimes building an outfit starting with the weather and then what shoes work in that weather (it was a colder time of year then). On rainy summer days your loafer or ballet flat outfits could work that way too. (Btw I loved your insights into ballet flats and slimness or otherwise of a shoe, I think it’s why the Gucci backless loafers are easier to style than other loafers and also why I haven’t yet found ballet flats I can style…I think I will try them on with jeans cropped at the ankle, as you showed here.) Love your channel xo

I think people can misinterpret the idea of ‘dos and Don’ts’ as negative but I know there are so many women who are interested in fashion but maybe struggle with finding outfits that ‘work’ or that they feel good in. I really think having some basic rules or formulas to springboard from helps! I’m happy that message comes through 💖💖💖

Thank you so much. I recently wore those shorts and was stumped. I tried on most of my shoes and settled for my strappy sandals which looked ok. The other month it was the belts. Hi Lydia. What another great video with such great styling advice focusing on footwear. I do think balance is really important and I simply cannot wear heels at all, unfortunately, so the 4 choices of flats were great. I have to include my plain white Skechers trainers as being a really important part of my wardrobe too and are amazingly versatile.💖🌸

Fantastic content as usual. Footwear is very challenging for me as I have wide feet and most of my shoes are made to order to accommodate the width. If possible I would love to have a little commentary on shoe width and how that affects the overall look. You did mention it briefly with the ballet flats with the rounded toe (all of my shoes have a rounded toe), and I would love more guidance.

Loved this! Pairing shoes with outfits is always tricky in the summer. Would love to see some hot weather outfits if possible. I find when it’s steaming hot it’s so hard to put decent outfits together

So needed this! Shoes are my weak point-always. Question: why not wear the loafers with the jeans? What's the difference between them and the ballet flats? Do they read differently? They kind of fall into the same category in my mind... Also, could you touch a bit on heels: strappy, heeled sandals, mules, slides, espadrilles etc. too?

Thank for this video Lydia!! I adore fashion, I’m even in fashion school. And I consider myself quite fashionable with my own style, it’s one of the things I pride myself on. But for the love of god, I CANNOT find a way to find shorts work!!! It’s summer I’m Canada right now, highs are around 35 degrees Celsius. I strictly have only worn skirts and dresses. I just ordered some clothes, and I grabbed a bunch of shorts. If you could do a video on how to style just shorts, that’d be lovely!! I don’t like going for the casual look, no matter the occasion. I mean I suppose I can go casual, but I always like looking fashionably put together. And I can never find a way to make shorts look fashionable. I’m also quite picky with my colours. Actually, I don’t wear colours. I only wear neutrals (preferably black and beige/tan, and denim), and I have troubles mixing cool outfits with shorts that doesn’t look too basic. Because I love going bold, yet still within my comfort zone, which is neutrals. Id love if you could do a video just for shorts, love your content❤️

I am faced with a perpetual problem: the shoes I love the most are usually not on trend. Oxfords are never on trend, I guess? But it seems like chunkier loafers are sort of in? 6:11 isn’t it contradictory to the balance/contrast rule? the jumper is delicate and summery and it was best paired with minimalist delicate sandals. I’m confused😢. I would have gone with the other sandals to create contrast.

I like the shoes but with my planter fasciitis I can’t wear such a flat shoe but need more support. But it’s all great for young people who still have strong healthy feet.

Most people shouldn't wear too flat or two high shoes, not to mention to tight fitting front of the shoe harms feet, so it's not you, it;s how a human being function and most modern shoes ignore basic human physiological needs. As for me, it's really hot were I live, all I care about now is that shoes do not harm my feet and do not lead to burns. Same with clothes, it should be cooling and easy to use. I choose soft, gentle, natural fabrics for both and really styling does not bother me too much now.

Lovely looks, but two or three shoes or bags from you selection equates to my annual budget..
