That's exactly what I've noticed about me too
Great to hear! If you're clearing your throat a lot - it does mean that you are singing too much on your throat. Make sure you are breathing a deep tummy expanding breath and opening your throat when you breathe in. This will help. And drinks lots of water!
I am a voice teacher also and really enjoyed this video. Thank you for your great instruction!

Glad to hear from a voice teacher like you Linda!
Glad to hear my videos were helpful to you :)
Always warm up with exercises before you sing. You can do them in the morning, or whenever you feel like your voice has 'woken up' enough
One of the better singing teachers I've seen on youtube: no waffle, straight to the point, good exercises.
I hope my family doesn't hear me practicing this they'd think I'm insane

Hannah Rose All my neighbours hear me when I do opera excercises...I guess it's funny for them. (or maybe they just hate me ahahah)
You're a great vocal coach, very painless and pleasant to watch
Hey! That's really great to hear =) Am so glad you've discovered more of your voice!
Great to see you have been practicing my exercises for a month!

Great - thank S!
you are a great voice teacher,.. so happy to have found you on youtube
Thanks!
Thanks for that. I love opera technique and would love to teach it, so it's great to know someone wants to know!
Thank you both, Mary Luz and Teresa for those warm words of yours. Wish you the best!
Yes it is! Just listen to the great opera singers - they all use head voice but have very powerful sounds. It's by practicing the exercises and making sure you have good breath support. Watch my videos that cover singing in head voice and breathing and practice them..it takes time and patience too
--SilverFire-- So glad to hear that and you're very welcome!
Glad to hear that :)
jonny cage Thank you so much Jonny!

Cool - good idea!

"Miracles"?! Wow, that's fantastic! I'm so happy to hear that its made a difference to your voice. The thing is when we speak or sing, we are using the same instrument - our voice - so if you keep diligently practicing the exercises, it will improve both! Good work on your practice! All the best for you too =)
thank you remind me of childhood school days learning to sing, you are the best teacher
Really enjoy your courses! You've so much personality! You should be teaching music lessons on tv.

There's a lot to it, but you first need to get rid of tension by not pushing your voice. Check out How to sing 101 - Part 1 for some exercises on how to open the throat
Thank you so much for this video! Super helpful :)
Thank you for the video, really helpful
the "a" exercise is awesome. Most teachers dont teach vocal attack. They dont know that vocal attack strengthens the vocal chords, even in chest

haha..thank you...maybe one day I will ;)
kerri this really helped me out thanks.... great upload
Hi, that is a matter of strengthening your head voice and getting more connection in your voice. Requires lots of practice. Start with the exercise in this video specifically the strengthening head voice one - this helps you not flip into falsetto, and also practice my vid "How to develop mixed tone" - that might be a good start. I'm releasing a FREE course that might help very soon from my website so watch this space!
