Wow!!! All these years of fly fishing …. I didn’t realize fly rods could be taken apart 😂😂😂 . That explains why the rod companies got made every time I’d send a 4 piece rod back stating that the rod arrived in 4 pieces in a sock in a tube …. 😂😂😂😂

Another great informative video. Thank you. Braeden’s technique works well with Scientific Anglers Rod Sleeves. For me Braeden’s technique with rod sleeves works well when driving between fishing locations in a rental car since it doesn’t have roof storage for my rods. My rods fit comfortably in the rental car and have protection from scuffing. I would enjoy a video on strategies for wade fishing when the fish aren’t biting, besides just give up. In general I would also enjoy more videos about wade fishing, especially on the Madison with its stronger current and greased bowling ball like rocks riverbed.

Great tip Braeden, many years ago I'd try and do this but always screwed it up until I saw Kelly do it. I like to wade fish with two rods, one for streamers and the other for dries and nymphs and this trick makes carrying the second rod much easier.

Its easy just break it over your knee and your done throw it in the truck, forget a damn rod vault those are for real guides

I have never seen a rod broken down so inefficiently before.

I often don't realize that a shit-ton of people going out west hiring guides didn't grow up as kids riding their bikes to fish, and didn't learn this stuff the same way we learned to walk and eat... apparently there is a lot of money to be made teaching doctors and lawyers and bankers how to transport a fly rod. I'm too dumb to take advantage of it.
