Just got my S7 all set-up. It was a little unnerving because the battery started to drain very fast and the phone was VERY hot. I followed your steps..and everything seems to be running okay now. I appreciate it man!

Too bad they took the "Fast Charging" toggle option off on android v7.x.x... so the best way to keep it cool from now on is to carry a small portable fan... tsk tsk.. but seriously what I found working is under Device Maintenance > Battery > select Mid power savings, it helps a lot, but I still miss the "Fast Charging" toggle option off :(

@@BillAnt There is a toggle for fast charging wireless & cable Do this: Settings>Device maintenance>Battery Press the three dot on the top ( right side ) Press advance, then the toggle for fast charging should show up

Yea bro exactly whem i was has s6 edge and i play pubg mobile 5 6 hours it never heat but when i started playing pubg mobile in s7 it will become full of heat in 10 to 20mnt and than 2 3 ago it tempurature came down!

I don't think the 2nd one is a thing. I think the two choices only display the apps, because if i choose all apps and back out of the screen, when i go back in it's showing only apps not optimized again. My phone has always had fast charging disabled and power saving enabled. Even so my phone got up to 108 degrees yesterday with no apps running (this was after closing all recent apps, running device management, clearing the cache partition, and rebooting).

My S7 hates temperature changes, when it's too cold the screen goes black when it's too hot it overheats

my S7 sometimes gets REALLY HOT and I can't touch the sides they literally burn my hands

Hey buds, I bought a Samsung J7 because my Samsung S2 used to heat up while using Viber and the battery was also quite old and couldn't find the replacement battery in Thailand as the phone is an AT&T version from US.. And yesterday after buying the J7 I used the Viber and the phone heated up just like the old phone.... Is it the problem with Viber or is my new J7 a fake thing ? I did the Benchmark Antutu test and it showed 40000 something result... Does Benchmark tests help us know whether our phone is fake or genuine ?... plus can figure out whether viber heats up the phone especially when using the camera for video chat ?????? Thanks.

I was just curious and watched this video. I found out my Nexus has the battery optimization thing you showed on here. I hope it helps with my phones over heating.

What's the point of having fast charging if it can't do it without overheating to the point warnings pop up on the screen?

You can try putting the phone in a cooler place with good air circulation, also using fast charging just shortens the lifespan of any battery on any phone.

You can if you use the original charger and cord that belongs to the phone. Mine only overheated when i used a belden cable. Make sure yku got a good!cable

samsung galaxy s7 has a cpu cooling system, how can I view/adjust the settings, or even reset? I think I accidentally selected not to ask anymore... my cousins pops up with the "CPU cooler" screen and says "scanning the cpu" when her phone is getting hot. it will tell her the temp and monitors how the temp goes down (you can see the temperature next to the battery life percentage at the top of your screen"

I just bought it yesterday it's heating when am watching my CCTV on phone.

I love Samsung Smart Manager. Just optimized all the other apps that weren't enabled bc new install. With disabled backgroundprocesses my phone is blazingly fast again.. :3 I think I could even get a little bit more out of it by freeing up a little more space, but other than that "we good".

why is his battery life way higher than mine I got my phone like 4 days ago

My phone would get random very hot. Then 1/3 of my screen went total black. Now the rest of the screen flickers until it all turns black & you can no longer read the screen except for the top where the battery %, time, Bluetooth is. That part of the screen is bright. Cannot figure out what is going on with this phone. In order to get the screen on got to blow dry the screen for 30-45 sec on screen. Something is very wrong with the phone design. I have already taken the phone apart to see if any connections were not contacting, that was not the case. Next phone will definitely be iPhone.

I just returned my s7 and exchanged it for the iPhone 6s. I could heat my whole house with the heat coming off of it. I use a note 5 for work and it is always cool as ice with heavy use. I feel Qualcomm is to blame for this. The snapdragon 820 if a furnace. Hopefully Samsung will stay in house when the note 6 comes out. I'm done with Qualcomm processors, I've haven't had good luck with them yet.

Already had my s7 edge almost melt the charger port, and ruin the fast charge ability. Now my wife's phone nearly melted and the rear glass separated from the phone and burned her leg a little. Now we have to wait for exchange. I'm done with Samsung

Just bought this phone and within three minutes of turning it on, it was insanely hot. Not even plugged in. Yikes!
