I never installed my wind deflector. My wife handed me the bolts upside down and they wouldn’t go in. 😂

Great story Jerry! My wife does the same to me, and after 28 years I wouldn’t have any body else hand me stuff upside down.

I subscribed about a year ago and have learned more than I thought possible in such a short time from watching your videos.

Just remember, out in the empty parking lot nobody can hear you scream...except Donna and her new jousting mop stick lol

I hadn't ridden in 10 years, then bought a retired Harley Police motorcycle. Prior riding again, I re-read a motorcycle safety book, and watched every credible skills video I could find, in addition to lots of parking lot practice. One thing I am sure of Mr. Palladino... your videos absolutely save lives, and are among the very best I have watched. I'm shocked at how much I forgot, and how downgraded my skill set has become. Knowing a technique doesn't mean that technique part of my skill set. To qualify as a skill set, repetition is required until it's all reflex and muscle memory when applying any given technique. And after 10 years off, I am trying to re-gain and improve my skill set greatly. I look forward to taking your hands-on courses when the weather breaks and your classes start back up in the MD/VA area. Thank you Sir, thank you very much.

Hilarious. This sounds just like my wife Donna and me. This is exactly how it goes down at our house. I want to thank you and your wife for all the great videos, I recently bought a 12 ultra limited and have gotten my license here in Marion county Fl and have been watching your videos. Well let me say from riding dirt bikes all my life to street and jumping onto a 900+ pound bike was a culture shock. Watching your videos and taking your advice I am now on my way to riding like a pro. I’ve been scraping boards and leaning the bike thanks to you ( with wifey on the back too). Now I bought her a 06 883 and we are watching your videos together ( especially the ones that Donna is carving up the coarse). Hopefully we will get to take one of your classes soon after she gets her endorsement. Thanks for the great advice and God bless you both

Jerry I love you’re videos, gotta hand it to ya for being a former motor officer;but an officer of the law none the less.....Your not an arrogant prick like other officers I’ve met or dealt with in the past....Your still just an ordinary human being at the end of the day that enjoys teaching people tips and tricks for safe riding practices and maneuvers to make us better and safer riders......I was raised on bikes from a trail 50 as little kid all the way up to my 2012 flhp I have now.....and never having a dresser always a Vulcan and a low rider still big twin but not big bike and I could ride it persay but boy did I need to regroup and I watched a few of your videos and started practicing in parking lots and county roads and picked it up like riding a bicycle

Thankfully the video isn’t upside down.

The other brilliant item to stop wind buffeting are the Madstad brackets. The Victory Cross Country is notorious for wind buffeting. When I put it on my Victory Cross Country it stopped the buffeting. I still have air around my helmet and shoulders etc but no buffeting. Don't know how it goes on other bikes but it was great on my Cross Country.

I've learned a lot from your videos, and like learn how to properly start off on a step grade. Especially with a passenger. My bike is 2017 FLHX.

Man, I’ve watched a lot of your videos because you’re good with motorcycle instruction, but who the hell knew you were a marriage counselor, too. Best video I’ve seen I long while! I’m going on 26 years soon. She has no interest in riding, so a Harley’s out, but I’d love to see a video with your suggestions somewhere between a Harley and a mop.

Exactly. One would think she'd have appreciated that fact.

she may have handed the item to you; but you installed it. You have experienced a lot of helmet buffeting that affected your judgement before you installed that Bakerbuilt product.

You could tell that mop story and change it from a mop to just about anything else and we've all been there multiple times. Sounds like we're all married to the same wonderful woman.

You seem to ignore the fact that you must not blame your wife directly. They are not well built for that. Women thrive on compliments and encouragement (support), while men thrive on corrections, criticism and hard punches. Thanks for the vid, very helpful.

I built a 1.5" tank lift for my Road King, it helps quite a bit with helmet buffeting also.

Sounds like my wife we been married 34 years. She still give me Heck about that ironing board I bought her our first year.

You know you have a good women, she takes the hit for improper installation and you keep your ego intact. I wonder if you blame her for putting your shoes on backwards? Jerry Jerry... 🤣 Camera girl is thinking "Do as you will, just go and be Happy" lol

On my gold wing, the stock windshield in the lower position doesn't cause buffeting, but you are looking over the windshield. So I bought a clearview windshield in a larger size, where you are behind the windshield. No buffeting at all, while still being behind a windshiield. So no bugs, and no buffeting.

The air that gushes up from underneath and tries to blow your shirt off is what drives me crazy. I swore I’d never buy another bike that wasn’t an Ultra with fairing and hard lowers. But I’m gonna try a heritage softail first since I’ve always wanted one. Hopefully folk deflectors will help a lot

ED4692009 I also have the same issue. My windshield is aftermarket. I’m not sure how it compares to stock. I am a tall rider, maybe that is why?

I'm tall as well and buffeting is real issue usually I just take the windshield off, for next season I'll try something called lower deflectors. Check it out.

I hope not because I sure have benefited from your videos. I reentered motorcycling after 40 years and am not aware of a lot of the techniques you are teaching. Young and dumb doesn’t cut it at 60 years old on a motorcycle. Why is 65 mph faster now than it was in 1980?
