Thanks a bunch! After recovering from COVID, I noticed that my hair was falling out more than usual. To tackle this problem, I made some positive changes in my lifestyle. I focused on improving my diet, ensuring that I consumed more protein and vitamins. Additionally, I started taking daily walks for at least 20 minutes to stay physically active and engaged in 10 minutes of meditation daily for stress relief. As part of my hair care routine, I used littleextra cocoonion hair oil twice a week, leaving it on for 5 hours before washing it off with littleextra natural mild shampoo and conditioner. I also started drinking amla juice in the mornings. I also made the decision to limit smoking and drinking, indulging only once a month for socializing. All these efforts resulted in a significant reduction in my hair fall. Thank you all for your support and encouragement!

I suffer from Acromegaly, diagnosed when I was in my early 20s. For those who are not aware, it's a condition caused by excess GH secretion, which affects (as it was pointed in the video) IGF-1 levels. I've undergone two surgeries and am currently taking Octreotide shots to control my GH levels. I used to have a full head of hair before my surgeries with very minimal hairloss. After my second surgery, my GH and consequently IGF-1 levels decreased significantly. All I know is that my hair thinned out completely in a matter of 4-6 months. Just some food for thought...high IGF-1 levels might have an impact in preventing the miniaturization of hair follicles.

Following pregnancy, I noticed my hairfall but I remained calm. I acted to to control it. I opted for a health-centered approach. I took care of my diet, having vitamin-packed foods, especially those high in Vitamin E and Protein. I worked out regularly and practiced meditation for stress management. I avoided styles that pull on my hair and stopped using heated hair tools to minimise hair damage. I even started using LittleExttra's Coconion shampoo, hair oil along with a neem wood comb. The outcome was hairfall control and the recovery of my confidence.

Finally Minoxidil is not a sliding scale. 1mg suppresses approximately 60% but 1/2 mg suppresses about 50% and 1/4 mg suppresses about 46%. It's better to start with 1/4mg a day and titrate UP and than make a mess and try to dial it back. FURTHERMORE since Minoxidil takes several weeks to clear your system, unless you have aggressive hair loss in your 20's, you can absolutely take it every other day, further reducing possible side effects.

Just a year ago i used to have extremely healthy hair, got compliments almost every time. But here I am now facing huge hair fall, I didn't use shampoo a year back and actually used soap. I did for some reason tie my hair after washing which i later stopped after noticing hairfall and then for some unknown reason bleached my hair which resulted in very heavy hair fall. Sad

May be the MS, may be all of the meds I take to maintain myself due to my MS symptoms. I have no idea. I do have a fairly long scar as well, from my craniotomy (parasagittal meningioma, benign) that the hair does not grow on. It’s so frustrating, and it’s the ONLY reason I’m glad to be disabled and unable to work outside of my home, because it embarrasses me. It might be vanity, but I deal with so many other physical indignities, I don’t want to lose my hair on top of all of the rest of it.

Do medical school (this can be undergraduate or post-graduate degree, doesn't make a difference but some life experience prior to studying medicine will be beneficial AKA post-graduate degree may have advantage in that sense) -> then join a plastics surgery training pathway to become a plastic surgeon. -> once there, you may choose to subspecialise in hair, or just advertise accordingly to have your patient base reflect your personal interest, AKA hair-loss focused. This can take 10-15 grilling years to get to. Heads-up. It's quite intense work.

Once you've lost the hair, without an actual transplant, can someone ever actually regrow or get that hair back on their own once the hair has fallen out? I can totally see how going thru a transplant basically reseeds the loss hair but if someone has lost or is loosing a good chunk of their hair, meaning it's already gone, can it ever be grown back or at best without surgery they will just work to limit future hair loss? Also more people should and need to recognize hair loss early before alot of it is gone, and then they could put in place preventative measures to help maintain the hair they have to try and avoid loosing that hair, so many guys have clearly lost hair over the years and then wake up and have lost it and then decide to take action but that's after the fact that hair has already fallen out, try your best to keep what you have.

I was shedding 100-200 hairs in the shower it was devastating. It was a lot of shitty thin hairs so it proves that fin works even better at 1mg than 0.5mg. Many studies have indeed demonstrated the significant risk of Finasteride, with some side effects that can even be permanent. On the opposite, Dutasteride seems way better: less side effects, and better results in hair loss treatment. You really should ask to your doc about dutasteride. I'm even surprised not seeing anything about it in that video (maybe because it's not much used in the US compared with Europe and Japan???)
