Everyone on xbox already knows this. If the game freezes at an event youll never load back in before the event ends and it will likely freeze again so you wont even get back in anyway.

@ebikers2736 it's not a hard event to solo. Just use friendly fire to heal the bots..if those 14 people were off fighting the queen nobody would care what those people are doing but since you can see them you lose your 💩 like a child

@@gymhayes4613 yup I played last night, switched servers prolly 30 times and seen THREE ppl actually playing the game. Missed 4 events for trying to switch servers to one that actually had ppl playing, games crashing on ones that were okay, or the zones getting nvked because they were mad about already being the only active person on their server. Ppl were literally just AFKing in there base for no reason cuz the game is just unplayable while this dumb event is going on.

And then there's me, irritated because I have to run up the entire length of the damn main street before the game even registers that I have arrived at the location for the event. Same thing happens to me during the Mothman Equinox. (PC in case it matters.)

Even that doesn't always work anymore lol and when it does the second the frogs come out I crash. Lol. The only event I made it through yesterday was one I sat down for and didn't move. Then the second I got another old plan/mask I crashed immediately 😂 it's rough for us xbox one users

I had a squirt gun battle at the event today with 20 people at least and it was hilarious 😂 I’m so upset that I forgot to record. Also, on Xbox that event struggles hard af every time I’ve joined. Thx for all the vids West! I’ve been doing the west tek grind and have leveled up an absurd about of times as well 😎✌️💯

I know AFK can be annoying at times but it’s partially the drop rates fault. Between sleep, work, and real life I bet most people can only do maybe 2-3 events a day. Which means for many people their chances of getting a “rare” drop is so slim it causes afk.

Aha! Yeah I've also noticed lots of weirdness during the event, I think they kinda pseudo-instance the area off and you load into the instance when approaching.

A little tip for everyone to add to Wests point on seeing the robots when you join in, if nothing is spawning in if you see everyone’s Gamertags yellow it means the event is still going on and you’ve got in 👌

I crash mid event then can’t travel away or get back in anywhere. It’s annoying but that’s fallout for ya. Worst bit is AFK and I never crash but when I’m actually helping out il crash 50% of the time

This is a good point. A lot of players are complaining about others afking the event but as you stated above this is the main reason for afking. I sit on the roof near the boss spawn point,. I can still shoot the radtoads and s, mutants but running around is guaranteed to freeze crash.

X-box player here; I get freezes at the very start of the event and then cannot get into the event until it's finished. Tried to do four Fasnachts this morning after the update. Three freezes and black screen till after the event was over. So not very impressed. 😖

Yup last night 3 times 3 separate hours. Annoyed the piss out of me. It’s only this event for me too which is annoying.

I've had the black screen happening for a whille during events. Doesn't seem to be just a Fasnacht issue from my experiences. I think the first time I had it happen was during Invaders a few months ago and had it happen a couple of times during Mothman; although it didn't seem to be as big of an issue for me during Mothman, but maybe I didn't crash out near as much or something. PS: Glowing mask chance just plain sucks, I've yet get one at all (Feb & April Fools event included). Probably done a good 20-30 for them this time around - gotten all the normal version - just not a Glowing

It’s a 5% chance for a rare mask. You’re a little unlucky but odds are you get 1 every 20 events

As a Home Builder I always head back to Base once the event ends, which isn't anywhere near Fasnacht. I feel for people who wanted to just be near the event, only for it to crash. I used to get similar crashes joining Teams for Scourgebeast Queen.

You can check your pip-boy when you’re in the vicinity of the event to see if it’s active and not showing up on the map.

I don't even have the energy to want to do fasnacht man. This game so busted.

I got lucky today and got the glowing unicorn today

Nothing wrong with RNG. I've played almost everyday this time around and got one glowing mask so far. Seems right to me. It's what makes a rare item rare. You want this event to drop rares at the rate of stimpacks. If that's the case we wouldn't have rare items. Keep grinding we still have a few days left. You don't get what you wanted then go trade for it. For all the new people wetting themselves. This is how the game has been and will be, if you can't understand that pull out a dictionary and compare the words Rare and Common and you'll realize RNG isn't a problem. Common sense and patience however seems to be for most ❤️

My very first mask , on the very first day was the Glowing Honey Bee Mask. I was like what is this then i looked it up & I was like WoW!!!!

Literally haven't frozen once at this event (Xbox) I do however freeze all the time doing boardwalk expo, and unfortunately keep getting the Hella glitchy escortee part where they stand there and let time waste away before finally getting to the blood sample points

Thanks for this tip. I just wish my PS4 load times were better, they take what feels like forever but I will still try this method. Have been getting so many black screens.

used to have this problem all the time on the xbox one, anytime there was too many people at eviction notice id get it I'm very familiar with the issue sadly lol its just that there's too much activity in the location you're loading into. but yeah if you get this issue, wait until the event has been over for a few mins and people have left then try loading in or if you have fallout 1st load into a private, FT away then load into a public

Great game mechanic!🙃 My game crashed 3 times at the start of the event yesterday and cause of the black screen I wasn't able to load back in.

I haven't had any issues with freezing in Helvetia, but I have been having issues with the event objectives getting stuck. For example, we'll get the butcher and be turning in intestines but the objective just doesn't complete no matter how many we turn in, I had one run out of time with a few hundred intestines turned in out of the 10 it's supposed to need. The issue isn't limited to Fasnacht either, it can happen in any event that has an item turn-in or health bar. The problem and solution here aren't anything new though, there's always been such an issue when you happen to join in somewhere with an ongoing event. Fasnacht just has it worse than most other events, perhaps because of the random elements, but it's never been the best idea to log out inside an event area. Just fast travel over to The Rusty Pick or Goodsprings Mall first and you should be fine.

Just tried to solo it since I was the only one there. Rounded up 4 of 5 robots. Checked all houses again and again as I watched the clock run down. It failed but there was NO 5th robot!

Thanks for posting this. I am trying to get masks for me and a Friend of mine so she can't plan anymore. The only ones I have gotten so far are the unicorn, blue devil, and honey bee. When I didn't need them for her or me I donated them to whomever wanted them

I was mainly using a plasma pistol yesterday, but switched a few times to an alien blaster (actually the vats unknown). I had two application errors when wielding the blaster, at least one of which was during Fasnacht. Might have been a coincidence, but it's making me nervous to use the alien blaster.

Well nice to know i have to be late every time i join the event...i always crash/ black screen/blue screen or kicked out of game when mid way done with the event so when i try and join back in i have no way of really joining or going to a different location on the map so end up getting stuck on the loading screen...its really frustrating..i havent really been able to grind the event and honstly have better luck not lagging out whin being afk at the event..its really sad...please fix this game devs

Put down your survival tent just outside the event zone, and run to it after the event. This has been eliminating the black screen glitch for me and is faster than fast traveling away from the event.

Any populated area that you try to load in upon joining a server will give you that black screen this is not a new bug this is a bug that has been happening since the game was made it’s not something just for Fosnot. It’s not like you know anything else it’s just the game sucks. You can have a private server going and transfer and if someone is in the lobby around your stuff when you’re trying to login or load into that general area, sometimes the game black screens often times, more or less whenever you were joining or traveling, but more when you’re joining

If you shoot the ground with explosive ammo after joining late the event will show that it is active and pop up across the screen🎉

What i do is join a team with people i DO NOT know as soon as i get on. When i get kicked from server or try to join another fasnacht event i end up like in your video frozen on that screen. What i then do to comeback is join a player i dont know thats on my team instead of join team at the main screen. It doesnt allow me to join anyone on my friends list but for some reason works perfect everytime if you join a teammate not on your friends list. I have only missed 21 fasnacht events and in all that i have 2 glowing masks and all camp plans from the event

This event already played out. Way too many AFK’ing no matter what server you hop on. People standing around doing nothing. I’m done with it, can’t wait until it’s over.

Had this issue this mornimg. I was on a dead server so i switched and couldnt get in anywhere. A couple places everyone was throwing up confused emotes like me joining in canceled the event out. Wasnt showing on the map.

The immune to nuke and server kick glitch really helps :)

Big thanks to the AFK bandmembers giving us lovely music all throughout Fasnacht, could not complete the event without them!

Had the game crash twice on me today, after the new update, both occurred just after clearing the supermutants and heading toward the bonfire area. Of course, by the time I relaunched and spawned back in the event was over. I was at one event yesterday and out of dozen there 9 were wearing the new glowing variants. I'm more interested in getting the new plans, managed to get the butter churn and candle but out of 45 events I've done so far everything else has been the old plans. I don't AFK so it's become a real drag and I was already over the event from last time.

These bugs are getting pretty bad. I just got a glowing bull mask, put it on, stayed in the area for about 10 min and then when I look at my character, the mask is not equipped. It's not in my inventory, it's not in storage. It's just gone, like I never had it. Is anyone else experiencing something similar?

Not sure if it's the Geforce update or Fallout one, but every time I load into the game, it crashes my PC. Everything was fine up until then. 😮‍💨

Going to Greg's mining supply works too.

(Pa5) I'm not getting crap. Getting stuff like the old soldiers mask an plans I already have. I've been crashing during any event an even getting into power armor.

I'm convinced the freezing is actually intentional on Bethesda's part in order to make it even harder to get rare masks. Because it's funny how it's only events like Fasnacht and Alien invaders, which also drops saught after rewards that this issue pops up. I don't believe for one second that it's because all players are in that one location, because things like SBQ frequently have 15-20 players turn up, and that event doesn't do this, at least not to me. I mean, think about it. If your game freezes 50% of the time, that's 50% less shots at a rare mask so its basically a sneaky way to lower the 5% drop rate by half without players being able to whine at Beth about it. Downright dastardly. Same with them refusing to implement a safe, scam proof trading system. I also believe they want you scared to trade so as to stop you from acquiring rare goods more easily that way. If you didn't have the fear of being scammed, these events would lose popularity fast as everyone would just trade the masks, apparel and plans they need from them instead of the endless, repetetive grinding. Change my mind.

I've had a couple of crashes on PS5 when we get to the Super Mutant phase and when I try and load back I get the freezing issue. Also got really lucky and on my first two events after Fasnacht went live I got the Deathclaw mask and the Glowing Unicorn Mask

See and my problem comes when Fallout 76 crashes (as it does) as soon as I join a Fasnacht event and then it won’t let me join back in until after the event ends…. So annoying

The rarest mask I got this time so far was the Deathclaw mask. I was able to find someone willing to trade for the Glowing robot though. I wear that with my Red Asylums to show off. My favorite combo is the Green Asylums with the Vegetable Man mask.

I keep getting trash drops but got the glowing blue devil mask last night, but not the one i wanted tbh and trading in fo76 is always ropey, never used one of those courier people though not sure how it works (do you pay for it or something, what if they jump off with both masks half way through trade ect)

Glowing masks are special? How rare is a glowing scorch beast queen and blue devil? I got those two both yesterday and theyre just sitting in my box. Should i have them on display?

Dig the new robot look. Edit: also, if you see arrows over players, the events running. If you're joining off your social list, and aren't sure if they are in the event, don't pick the first few friends: if others are doing the same, the A-D usernames get clicked first and I run into a lot of "world full" screens

also if you have the nodding donkey and you try to place it down it will say you have built one of one and it will not let you place it unless you remove your wood pile it registers the woodpile as the nodding donkey I've made a ticket and contacted Bethesda about it this bug or glitch not many people are talking about a few people in angry turtles comment was the one that brought it up trying to figure out what the problem was and that's how I found the fix sadly until Bethesda fixes it you either have to have the wood pile down or the nodding donkey you cannot have both

So far for the rare masks after 18 Fasnacht, I got Deathclaw and Demon (But I owned them already) and A glowing pig mask. None was rewarded by AFK. Maybe the rate drop really got better this time. Who knows. Now I just need to get the Alien mask from the new pool

I haven't run into the black screen but I have had problems with things loading. Gotten lucky so far gotten Glowing Pig, Glowing Scorched Beast, Glowing Bee, Raven and a Brahmin 2x Butter churn

After that update, all it takes for me to crash at Helvetia is FTing there when there are more than a couple people present or like... actually helping with the event also causes my game to crash.

I've done... 33 or 34 events so far, _I think_, and I think I got 3 rare masks (demon, glowing minotaur, winter man), but I'm still missing 3 common masks. At least I got the motorized butter churn, so I'm happy with this event.

I got old man winter mask and havnt seein too many wearing one in awhile 🤔 but no glowing ones yet. But havnt seein anyone get the old man winter mask really. So I thinks it got a little more rare of chances then usual. Either way I'm happy 😅

I think I've done the even around 20 times now and I also haven't gotten anything rare. I've gotten like 5 honey bee masks though

Only time I had a freeze so far was on my first try of Fasnacht, where the game softlocked when the parade was about to begin.

No freezes for me on my potato pc but have missed rewards 3 times already

I've done over 40 events now, and still no rare masks at all, not even the old ones. I feel like they reduced that chance to get anything decent this time around.

Mr west have you gotten anything good from fasnacht?

whats the significance of the masks? i sold the glowing alien for 9k caps is it something i should hold onto in the future?

There isn’t any significance, really. They’re just incredibly rare, which makes them incredibly valuable to avid traders. For most players though, the value really boils down to “do I think this looks cool or not?”

Either I got lucky or the new glowing masks have a higher drop rate then originally thought. I've gotten two already after around 25 events.

it dosen t work for pc, tried already in the same server, also just fast travel take a lot, is an anti multievent method probably, it wait fasnacht end and then it let u enter

I find I still freeze with the tent sometimes. And Bolton doesn't require fallout 1st.

It literally doesn't matter what to do I have frozen a d crashed every single event pre and post update. I can go early late I can sit still I can try to help it literally doesn't matter what I do. If I do make it through I crash at the end. I've also seen 2 new plans the rest were old and only a couple new masks no glowing. It's been pretty miserable lol I ended up skipping a few bc it's not even fun anymore.

I just go for the legendary cores... but it crashed a few times before finish the event 😞😞😞

Not sure how leaving solves this those since AFK players don't leave for hours on hours on hours. I watched one player sit for 5 total events playing an instrument and never crashed. It happens all over the map for me and not just at this event. The amount of times it's crashed on me while in Skyline doing the new stuff it crashed on my PS5 at least 30 times since the update.

I’ve been coming across a few servers that have nuked Helvetia, which seems to bog the server down really bad on top of all the people. Not sure why they’ve have been doing this, I haven’t noticed any added benefits with the event

fast traveling to a place, then switching servers and going back is too much of a waste of time, i have never had any black screen though, but fast traveling first will absolutely kill the chance of a second one unless someone is deliberately holding up progress by at least a minute

Fortunately i havent had these issues on the Series S with Fasnacht. Also still no glowing mask 😂.

Does anyone really need an excuse these days to be a sponge? Event freezes up so badly its not even worth AFK. Latest patch on xbox did absolutely nothing. Totally over broken stuff like events not awarding you stuff, the random lockups and crashes, you know.. the really basic stuff like being able to play the game.

Welp, this doesn't help when the !@$# game crashes/dashboards us when we are doing the event...that is what I was looking for here. So far on this turn at Fasnacht 2 out of 5 attempts per day played I get dashboarded to the Xbox home screen doing the event. No, there isn't anything wrong with my internet connection or my xbox. The only reason I have a glowing mask from the past two Fasnacht event periods is because someone apparently put one in their vendor super cheap by accident...and if not, THANK YOU whoever you are if you see this!

How do you make bank off of a fallout show off all the merchandise and off all the atomic shop items they should have enough money to allocated resources into the development team for them to fix the damn bugs

I found the glowing unicorn mask in the donation box. I was soooo happy. It was the only mask I really wanted.
