    I JUST badly cut myself with garden tool.. don't ask...Dumb --but still bad! When I looked I could see deep into the flesh of my hand! I ran in the house (to keep myself from fainting, lol but seriously!) and immediately ran out under water . Did y'all know that it doesn't really hurt at all if you clean the round with hot water... if the water is cold it hurts like hell!! . I had some blood stop power that I use on my horses (horse first aid stuff is cheaper and you get more. ). Anyway, even tho the wound is about 2.5 inches long and maybe a little more than half an inch deep, I threw on the powder and a crap load of crazy glue trying to close the would. while I'm doing that, my neighbor who came in to help me,, yells "oh crap!! Bruce just bit me!!" my super big, super timid, rescue pure beef German Shepard bit my neighbor ... Someone he sees everyday! Lucky, no blood but got his jeans pretty bad! I was shocked bc I've always wondered, with him being so timid, but he ever protect me if needed..... I guess I have my answer. Neighbor said he stopped the minute I told him to. Wow. I had to calm them both down and then refocus on my bleeding. Still trying not to faint (yes! I am a big baby!!) Oh and in all the chaos someone left my gate open and my horses 🐴🐴🐴 thought it would be really funny to booted it out the gate and run down the road! Oh yes that's just hilarious! you could hear them laughing all the way, bunch of turds! Lol. 🙅🏽 🐎 🐎 🐎 No worries. They weren't going to go nowhere, I live on a dead end dirt road and I knew exactly where they were headed. -- down to my other neighbor -- who has just finished cutting her 1.5 acre lawn. I'm assuming they wanted to get a taste of the fresh cut grass 😱 So now it's about 3 hours later, horses 🐴🐴🐴 are back on my property 🌄, GSD 🐶 is feeling bad that he miss judged the situation and bit a "good guy" and my other neighbor ("country living"....t) made me a margherita,....or two, three? 🍹🍹🍹 (bc of course that's what you do in Texas when you want to cheer someone up)... I just finished watching the video.... again felt a little faint.... And I'm a little tipsy..... But I'm realizing now that I kind went a little nuts with the crazy glue. the blood stop power AND the bandage are all glued together. Cleaning this wound shall be interesting..... Not really sure what I should do. I know that if I remove the bandage it will bleed a lot again, but at least I will know how to stop the bleeding. Any suggestions on how to dislodge the crazy glued bandage so I can change the dressing? I'm thinking maybe coconut oil? Any thoughts Besides "...omg this chic here ... She needs prayer!!....".🙄 I'll do it tomorrow when I have a clearer head. 🌛🥴💤🛌

    @@tasseyko LMAO OMG! UMM crazy glue is filled with chemicals. Remove it asap. The drug store has special bandage glue. To remove CRAZY GLUE? Try running it under warn water or soaking for 10 minutes. Use oils, butter, coconut oil to soften and take it off. Praying!!!!

    I know this is kinda late..but cool vid.but got a question..isn't holding the arteries for too long is bad? Cuz it stops the blood supply to the hand? If so,how long is the safest to apply pressure on arteries?

  • @drbuckparker

    @drbuckparker

    yes and no. you can tolerate little to no blood supply to an extremity for about 6-8 hrs and it will still come back to function normally.

    I am older and I mountain Elk hunt. This is some of the things that I encounter that are real danger areas, Down trees with broken off branches. They are sharpe and wedge like in shape and pose very serious, deep puncture wounds. Rocky, slippery areas that pose great deep cut wounds. Broken bones. As woodsmen / hunters we have been taught to be careful. However, this is never a 100% cure all. Any military services special forces units have medics that are trained well beyond the average bear and I believe they are the forerunners to the PA or NP people. Can you produce a video that addresses these situations in a way that we can save ourselves or our companion till help arrives.

    I just took a "stop the bleed" class at my local hospital. it was fun. this was a mini version of that class. we practiced putting on tourniquets and packing deep wounds. it was taught by an ER doc that was a military doc in Afghanistan before. He said he had put on about 500 tourniquets. tourniquets are good. Funny how "science" works (tourniquets - "bad", you'll lose your limb. real work experience and testing. Hey, tourniquets are amazing!") The ER doc said he had patients that wore tourniquets for over 6 hours, with no long term negative consequences for the limb. It really helped in giving the docs more time when triaging patients.

    🤔🧐Well I have a perplexing situation....more than a week ago, I sterilized a needle and removed a splinter or tiny piece of glass or “something” out of the tip of my index finger and now it won’t stop bleeding and when I do get it to stop bleeding it restarts bleeding for no apparent reason. It started to heal but it felt like something was still in there so I repeated the 1st action yesterday. It stopped bleeding & every thing was fine. I went to bed, no problem. It doesn’t hurt & it doesn’t feel like there’s anything still stuck in there. It started bleeding again an hour ago for no apparent reason when I was warming dinner. I only notice it starts bleeding again when I start seeing blood on things I touch. I have a latex allergy so I don’t use bandaids. I like to let the open air help heal my wounds. I keep putting isopropyl alcohol & peroxide on it to keep it clean. I have applied pressure. It still bleeds. I have no idea what is going on. I have never not been able to stop a cut or wound from bleeding especially something this tiny. 😫

    I think you might research about when and when not to use peroxide and alcohol. I don't think you should use it everyday, maybe the first time the cut happens but not after that but I could be wrong. Maybe check in to it 💗
