I got surprisingly angry at the notion that the video would end so soon. You really got me there Chris!
Thanks Chris. I’ve been following all your videos since and I applied everything I learned from your videos today in my driving test in London Tolworth. I had the 7am test. I passed on first Attempt with 2 minor faults only for hesitation on a busy roundabout and Control - Gears. I actually watched the Show Me, tell me questions again today to refresh my memory and they asked me the same things 😂. And the reverse Bay parking video as well helped because that’s what I got. Happy driving everyone:))

Hi there! Thanks so much for your kind words and for sharing your driving test experience. Congratulations on passing your test on your first attempt with only 2 minor faults - that's amazing! I'm thrilled to hear that you found the videos helpful and that you were able to apply what you learned during your test. It's always great to hear success stories like yours. Keep up the good work and happy driving! :)
I just subscribed and started washing your videos today, you teaches so well and you are more detailed than my instructor. Easier to understand. I wish you can be my instructor
Like how you gave the Gangsta bit GTA San Andreas style writing nice touch 👌🏼
Thank you this video helped a lot I had my lesson where we covered this for the first time yesterday evening and I feel I may have subconsciously picked up the crossing arms from being in others cars so it was a bit challenging getting my head around this technique however after watching this I have a better understanding and am excited to try it out next time I am behind the wheel
Hey Chris, thank you for all your videos I ended up binge watching them over the months and I passed my driving test today with 3 minors 😊

A few variations I use is to allow some overlap of the hands on the steering wheel to smooth the transition between one hand and the other, and also to allow the hands to go past 12 o'c otherwise I might find it hard to keep the wheel in certain positions
Thank you so much for all this information. Especially the comfortable positions for driving.

Bro i've been doing like 50 hours of driving so far and all this time i've been adjusting the seat only half correctly, my instructor showed me the first few times but i forgot the whole procedure since then. No wonder my legs get tired after about 10 minutes... the chair is way too low down in my dad's car, i just assumed because my legs reach the pedals with a slight bend it didn't need adjusting. Jeez, I realize now how important it is to constantly review the fundamentals.
0:31 lmao the editing in these videos get funnier and funnier
American police use this technique but with down hand position. With this technique if I need to turn left I need to push steering wheel with right hand first, with hand position on the video I need to pull steering wheel with left hand
I'm watching from Nigeria. Tried the push pull technique today but my instructor said that's a bad way of steering😢.
Which gear would be appropriate to go down a steep hill
The very start of the video is literally how I steer lol

I got 3 minors for steering. But my instructor has never told me my steering was bad.
Push pull is the right way for beginners so you can get used to exactly how much the wheel needs to turn and straighten out to make it around a given corner but once you learn your car and how the steering behaves letting it self straighten is easier and you can keep your hands on the wheel but just tighten or loosen your grip as needed to let the wheel move through your hands.

My instructor had me doing push and pull method on busy junctions today on first ever driving lesson. I was so overwhelmed and confused. Kept yelling at me.

Hi Chris, Is it OK to hold the steering wheel when in the act of turning left/right with whichever hand you are using?
@worlddriving
16 күн бұрын
Hi! As long as you're in control :)
I would argue that crossing hands/arms is OK, because you can only really do it at low speeds. At higher speeds (where the airbag would deploy on a collision), the car moves so much in response to steering that you simply can't move your arms enough to cross them without also crashing. At the lower speeds where you CAN cross arms, the airbag isn't likely to be triggered by a crash. However, there IS an argument to be made for not moving your arms in such a way that you block your own vision, which maybe could happen with crossing arms. That is a potential risk if you were parking and pedestrians were in close proximity. Thanks for all the great advice over the years.

Good comment. Some drivers rest one hand at the top of the steering wheel when driving at high speed which could be a problem in an accident.
You're so calm. Can I have a lesson with you?

When I was doing my test I was told we had to use 2 hands on the steering wheel if we use 1 it can be dangerous

You should use 2 hands unless you're using a control or physically can't 🙂

@@thor8419 yes I did last month. The one I mentioned above was my first attempt then I failed again in my second attempt with 2 majors , again it was same “steering control” & “clearance” but I finally passed on my 3rd attempt with 4 minors! If you’re still learning, don’t give up. You’ll eventually get there. All the best 😊
