How to Stay Motivated as a PhD Student (ft Susanna Harris @ PhD Balance)

Ғылым және технология

"A PhD is a marathon, not a sprint."
One might even consider a marathon more manageable than a PhD, at least knowing when a marathon will end!
Independent research is a long, isolating, and challenging journey. As many as 36% graduate students had sought help for anxiety or depression related to their PhD.
To fully prepare for a PhD journey, perhaps we all have to be accepting of the fact that, we could face a lack of motivation at some point in our research. And it's OKAY!
In today's video, I have the pleasure of having Susanna Harris, founder of PhD Balance, as our guest to share some practice tips on how to regain motivation as a PhD student. Also, how do we know it is "just a bad day"? What are the ways to reach out to people who can support us?

One of my viewers Nicola has shared that the sound effect was too distracting. I really appreciate the feedback from the perspective of an audience. You can now check out this unlisted video version with fewer sound effects here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lGGs0K1pmdC9aZM.html

I know. I know. This is a 20+ min video, which is long if you are not currently having a "bad day". So, please feel free to keep this one for the rainy days. I truly hope this will help someone when they are having a bad day at their PhD. Need motivation and resources on this topic?
