Most of this can be applicable outside of Ramadan as well. I like the idea of instead of prayer do other acts of worship in those time slots.

Thank you for this sister! I just got my period and thought that I wouldn't be on my period in the last 10 days because I was on my period in the beginning of Ramadhan but my period came early 😪Every time i'm on my period I feel more disconnected to Allah (swt). I was also hoping to make use of these last 10 nights and read a lot of quran and go to the rest of the taraweehs. You've put my mind a little at ease at reminding me that Allah gives you the reward for what you may have done. Thank you once again. Just recently I found your channel and watched your video of how you met your husband, subhanallah it's such a beautiful story. It really makes you be in awe of Allah (swt) and the way that he works. May Allah (swt) bless you ❤

Alhamdulillah I’m happy to hear it helped ❤️ for many of us, our periods came late our early because fasting affects the hormone secretion and can alter menses. So don’t worry too much, Allah is merciful 🥰

Yes, thank you! This is an important conversation we have to have! We take 3 times the reward during our periods: for neyah, for obeying Allah's orders by not fasting, and for fasting the days we missed after Ramadan ends! As for eating and drinking, i don't understand women who don't especially when they live in understanding homes. We are losing iron why are you harming yourself?

Salamun alaikum. Where in the Quran does it say that we can’t worship (pray, fast etc) if we have our menstruation? As we are to only judge through the Quran (ayah 6:114).

Wa alaikum asalam sis, I'm actually kind of surprised at this question, this is basic fiqh that every woman should learn as a child or upon becoming Muslim, but I'll clarify as you maybe didn't learn it. To clarify, the Quran and authentic sunnah are what we judge through. Not solely the Quran. The prophet was described as the quran embodied. The prophet SAW expressed that women are to not pray salah or fast when on their periods and this is Allah's ruling. The prophet SAW is commanded by Allah to clarify to the Muslims that we are to follow his instruction in surat Ali Imran: Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If you ˹sincerely˺ love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”. There are many things not included in the quran, which are clarified through hadith. Example, how we pray exactly is from the hadith. How much we give zakat is from hadith (the percentage isn't specified in the quran). The fact women don't pray on their period is understood through authentic hadith. In addition, the prophet SAW specified that we are to make ghusl after our periods, you make ghusl to reach taharaa which means you weren't in taharaa before that and you can't pray without taharaa. There is a whole body of literature on this in all schools of thought of fiqh. We don't separate Quran and the authentic hadith, that is what the Quranists do and they are in grave error. May Allah guide us.

@@alasryhso basically this implies that Allah forgot to mention it in when he was sending revelation to the Prophet, so it wasn’t written in the Quran, although he did talk about what women should not do during menstruation, such as physical relations with husband, fasting etc. Allah never specifically mentioned that women can’t pray or “touch the Quran” during the menstrual period, but this came many years later in the Hadith which contradicts what Allah said in the Quran. That’s why I’m not too keen on following the Hadith because they’re supposedly things the prophet said that were not revealed to him as a revelation for the Quran, but somehow was revealed to him at a later date as an afterthought.

@@junaid_634 my friend, your comment makes it clear that you may not be informed on the Seerah of the prophet SAW and how revelation works according to the Quran. I would advise you highly to revise your understanding because to neglect the Hadith is grave sin. the Quran was revealed in pieces as time passed, the Hadith was not an afterthought, Allah doesn’t forget anything Aoothubillah. But He delivers His message in different ways. The prophet was described as the walking Quran. His life is the manifestation of the Holy Word of Allah. Hadith cannot be separated from the Quran as it adds clarity on many topics and the questions the Sahaba asked the prophet SAW were clarified by the prophet SAW. To say that the Hadith is faulty is to cast doubt in the honesty of the prophet SAW and that is a HUGE sin and is an attack on the second half of the shahada of accepting him as a prophet. This is the last comment I’ll by writing in regards to this, I really expect that we recognize where we lack in knowledge, there’s not a scholar of our deen that discounts the Hadith, how could a lay Muslim do so. Please be mindful of your words that you speak because to stand before Allah with such claims can be detrimental to your akhira.

@@alasryh thank you sister, I appreciate your answer, and I understand you don’t want to engage in a debate about this. But I’d just like to say, there are many scholars who discount a lot of the Hadith. There are even whole sects of Islam who have emerged due to studying the Hadith and realising they don’t come from the advent of Islam, and have in fact been created years later, for many different reasons. Also, I would like to point out that Allah has clearly stated in the Quran that he has perfected the religion with this book, and no other Hadith after this book is needed or should be followed. We follow the prophet because he is the walking Quran, as you correctly said. So everything he did or said would have come from a revelation that would be from the Quran. All the revelations were fulfilled in the Quran. If any new rulings are found in any books of Hadith, they are not from Allah, because all of Allah’s rulings were revealed in the perfect book, the Quran. And the prophet is a messenger, not a lawmaker, so he could not make any new rulings from himself. This is why so many Hadith are wrong, because they don’t give a commentary to the revelations in the Quran, but in fact add completely new things that were not revealed for the Quran. I personally believe that the mainstream Islam that is being followed today is a lot different to the Islam that was practiced at the beginning. But I understand that is difficult for a lot of people to grasp and believe.

@@junaid_634 wa alaikum asalam wrwb, I don’t intend to debate because it’s one of those things that I don’t mess around with as it can easily be something that leads me to haram but an important correction here. There is a “science” to Hadith. There are scholars of Hadith who investigate hadith. Some Hadith are rejected because of doubt largely of the narrators. But this is to be left to Hadith experts who, when they claim a Hadith as weak can give an entire thesis on which narrators were possibly faulty, their biographies, etc. This is well known of certain ahadith and the Hadith scholars don’t take it lightly. But Hadith scholars do not reject the Hadith as a whole, ever. I’m aware of many of the ahadith that were doubted or questioned, the hadiths about periods, fasting and periods and Salah are not one of them. They are undisputed fiqh. I would sit with a scholar of hadith and ask them if you ever have questions. One of my mentors is a scholar of Hadith from Yemen and an expert in fiqh. I know a student of a scholar who has ijaza in hadith and all schools of fiqh in the Sunni sect. Both don’t lay any doubt on the rulings or hadith on menstruation and Salah/fasting. We should be very careful to use our faulty reasoning to decide that something is valid or invalid. The scholars who do this literally can tell you every narrator and their backstory and what influenced the narration to the T. We cannot. It’s our boldness in our lack of knowledge that can really get us in a lot of trouble with Allah. Please be careful and sit with a proper scholar and ask them about this. The more I learned about hadith and the different methods behind qualifying them, the more I learned I don’t know a thing and I must leave it to the scholars. If you have a doubt about a single hadith, instead of just assuming it is valid or invalid based on your perception, ask the scholars who dedicated their life to the study.

@@alasryh Oh no I'm so sorry if this came off as criticism or mockery. I only said this because the idea of being on your period during the last 10 days especially with Laylatul Qadr in the air, could dishearten or dampen the mood of some women I guess; it's a necessary and stark reminder though. I just feel kind of sympathetic to those who end up missing out even though it's not their fault.
