One thing I noticed(I practice on fake skins & my legs), most people practice on flat surfaces with fake skins. Took me a while to realize this wasn't paractical. I roll up & tape cardboard, make different shapes for different body parts & put the skins over it. Learning to stretch on different angles & having to switch up to get to hard to reach areas made a huge difference on my legs. I'm only 6 months in, so this is just an idea & what works for me... Hope all is well, take it easy.

I just started 2 months ago. Still only on fake skin. Really hard to find people on platforms who are calm and nice about starting with tattooing who actually explain it. Thank you.! ❤
I got a tattoo gun a month or so ago, I barely practiced on fake skin because the ink just didn’t sit in it right, I went straight onto my legs after that and my tattoos seem alright, I have a lot of tattoos from professionals and I think they hold their weight, I only intend on doing traditional B&W on my legs, 11 tattoos in so far. Your videos have helped a lot, thank you all

I've tattooed nearly 15 years. I kinda gave up tattooing 3-4 yrs ago. I've done a few since then. But I noticed I wasn't up to the same quality of tattoos that I'd done in the past. The muscle memory you mentioned makes a lot of sense.
Your channel is always clear and straight to the point, I really appreciate it
Thank you so much , please don’t stop creating these amazing videos for beginners ❤️❤️❤️
You deserve all the recognition you have coming your way, you get to the points and make everything easy to listen to, thinking about beginning tattooing was kinda overwhelming but your advice brought comfort and confidence
Thank you for all of the things you have to help me learn and what to expect.
I just sent this video over to my sister who wants to learn to tattoo, she's already got an art degree and always wanted to be a tattoo artist.
I'm excited to get learning. So far I've just practiced on myself but I have a lot to learn.
I'm so glad there's someone out there actually making videos like this that's a professional tattooer. I've actually gone to a lot of people even some people that I at one point considered friends. People who have actually tattooed me. They didn't want to give really much advice and I felt like it was just because of competitiveness if there's so many tattoo artists out there there will be less work.
This is awesome and super helpful, I'm 15 and have wanted to be a tattoo artist for years and im getting back into wanting to do it after much doubt. I'm gonna keep drawing American tradional until I can buy a machine and fake skin. I'm super pumped!

This has been very helpful. I haven't tatooed for several years and life went on. Got busy with work and kids but now that my kids are getting older (especially my youngest) I'm looking into getting back at this career and start from scratch because I know I'm rusty and get my goals going again instead of sitting behind a desk or a counter job

Hello! Thanks for putting out these really great and informative videos. They're just the kind of thing that I've been looking for, for research purposes. I've just started working on a book, (a fantasy romance, which I greatly hope to finish and then publish.. fingers crossed) and I've decided to make the heroine of the story a tattoo artist. I, personally, have nine tattoos and I have an upcoming appointment to start working with an artist to design my tenth. (Which is what inspired me to make the heroine an artist herself. I've got tattooing on the brain.. LOL) There's just one problem, I know next to nothing about the actual process from start to finish, or the different products that are needed by the artist. (This video helped a lot with the latter, so thanks again. I know the basics of course, gloves, machines, paper towels, ink. And sterilization, shaving the area, stencil placement, outline, shade or color, then bandage. But I'm missing the smaller details, like how to prep the skin before the stencil, and before putting ink to skin and the final steps of the process when you're finished inking the design and before bandaging it. And while this particular video gives me a lot of helpful information, because of the use of fake skin it doesn't have all of the information that I'm looking for. Is there any chance for an upcoming step by step video of a tattoo being done on real skin from start to finish?
Thank you so much ❤ my dad is talking about getting me a tattoo gun and I really needed this video to help x
Yes... I love you... thank you. I'm going to binge everything now.
This is really good advice. Thanks a lot.

First thing I noticed was that darth maul bust !🔥 Where did you get that from if I may ask ??
What do I use when I’m tattooing and then I wipe of the ink that was left , do people use alcohol or green soap and water on a paper towel to wipe it? Cuz I just use a dry paper towel and it ends up smudging my whole canvas

Do you have a DVD? Would like to see your videos in order. I would buy it.
My dad and uncle work on a tattoo shop, alongside other family members who work in the ink business and now im watching this to help the family but what my dad told me and I want everyone to know. "Son many people come to our shop and start paying so we teach them how to tattoo and it's not cheap, and for the first 2 months we teach them to draw lines, and most of them pay and give up cause they can't draw straight lines. And they just end up waisint money and time. Don't give up Son. Perfect those lines."

Why is no one talking about the need to refill the needle cartridge after every swipe/use. I’m still unclear on how many times or when I need to dab my needle in my ink cap.
Does anyone know the name of the cartridge grip on the Inkjecta ?
In your opinion do you have to be good at drawing things to be a good tattoo artist?
I started practicing on Oranges as well as myself and husband lol
All good tips. Only thing I have found with stencils on fake skin is that it takes days for it to really dry where it doesn’t wipe off super easy.

@Kitty_Katze

Try to dry it a bit with a hairdryer and only apply a thin layer. I read using green soap instead can be used as stencil stuff as well, but I'm not sure about that. I myself didn't find Speed Sticks in my country, so every deodorant stick that contains propylene glycol should work, got one from AXE which works pretty fine

Hey! Quick question here: So, ever since I've known how to hold a pencil, I've held it differently. I believe that was due to it being easier for me being double-jointed. When I'm learning to use a tattoo machine, should I hold it as you demonstrated in the video, or should I try and find something easier for me?

i think you should go with whatever helps you get the job done consistently
My main question is how often do you dip into the ink - like is it every minute or seconds ?
You say make a list but what is everything on that list? I’m still really lost and I’ve looked all over to find out exsactly what I need but I don’t trust the “my first tattoo gun“ sets on Amazon lol
One thing many artists said to me work on your lines make sure you can do the art someone wants done don't lie and say you do when you don't be comfortable and find a style your comfortable in many inks are different same with the needle make sure you are relaxed don't rush take your time build a good portfolio on you art of what you can do make sure stencil is straight and flat work on your shading and color work on your foot pressure on your machine so your not destroying your client arm or wherever your tattooing. Remain humble and don't build a ego. Don't charge crazy on people who don't know or are getting there first tattoos. Be yourself and remain focus on what you want to accomplish in tattooing. If you are nervous your client will know it and it doesn't look good on you or your business. Make it a good environment for you and your clients and also make sure you have everything you need before tattooing and make sure you keep your needles are clean and santitize keep your station clean always and healthy. Lastly have fun doing your art and make sure this what you want to really do because Soo many want it but don't actually put in the time to get better and you can take tattooing so many places. Lastly big big big thing every tattoo artist told me. Know how to really draw and don't lie about it not knowing how only a handful artist can really say they freehand it's the hardest thing to do in tattoo if you can do it and master it you will excel in tattooing. Because client love original art nobody has and doing it all freehand will show your client how good you are and then they can pass it on too others to give you more buisness and clientele

@@angeldelgado7120 basically be your own artist don't copy don't rush your work don't lie to customers saying you can do something and you can't do it. Make your portfolio known meaning build your clientele up and if word gets out your good enough maybe you will have more customers it's all about how your grind and how you move in tattoo and where you go. A lot of artists I know move to California

Drawing for tattoos are a little different than what you'll learn in an art class, if you're looking to learn how to draw specifically for tattoos, I recommend you check out our artist accelerator program! It has a dedicated drawing module that will be beneficial for you. Plus it'll also teach you everything you need to know to become a tattoo artist! If you're interested, you can find the link for the Artist Accelerator Program in the video description :)
What about the more important stuff? How do you get into tattooing as a career? Do you take a part time job at McDonald’s and also apprentice under someone tattooing how do you actually start????
@patrickhebdo5423

some of my friends never even apprenticed, they just got good on fake skin and themselves and friends, and then used photos for a portfolio. sending in examples of your work compared to just applying for an apprenticeship is like sending an application with a resume and everything, they’ll be more likely to start you off sooner if they know they don’t have to teach you every little thing.
