If you want to see how the factions play in practise, I highly recommend "Play on Tabletop" where they have a bunch of fantastic Conquest Battlereports. Every faction besides City States is covered in their videos and they are just really enthusiastic about the game, similar to Doug. Also all of their games are edited to be under an hour.

Probably the first game and first miniature line that I want to collect all the factions. Absolutely love the range and the lore is very enjoyable

on a note of rulebooks, My LGS was sent new rule books to replace the rule books in there old stock. Ive never seen a game company do that before.

I can only like this video once, so better leave a comment for YT algorithm. Never played conquest but I have watched many videos of gameplay. Very interesting game. So many interesting factions. 100k, orcs, nords and city states seems most interesting currently.

I started with a box of legionaries since I know I'll need more than the starter box and I wanted to see if I enjoyed painting them before committing.

Just wanted to say this game has been on my radar and your videos really seals the deal for me and ill start this collection soon. Im just seeing either dweghom or spires both are cool and have interesting stories.

Was thinking about getting into this a few months ago, never did. But those City States.... if I do get in, it won't be with Old Dominion now. I really dont want to spend the money on it, but the City States and Nords 2 player set looks good. Nords sound cool, I like aggressive armies.

City states. I initially chose it cause I like the theme. But since you say it's sorta like 40k deathwatch (my 40k army) then I'm sold.

Just to clarify, the miniatures are like Warhammer products where you have options on how to build your minis, or more like Malifaux, where all the parts of the minis are fixed?

There are a lot of dual kits that build two different regiments, but the only upgrades are officers that are sold separately (or converted if that's your bag). It's not like 40k where a Tactical Marine squad has 200+ possible combinations of wargear.

The miniatures are so expensive. They make GW look reasonable.

Wish the individual city states starter box was out. Want them as a second army, but don't want the Nords (and don't have anyone to split the box with)

I assume you have looked, but I think all new starter boxes are scheduled to be released in a few weeks. Want to say May 26 for most and mid June for the rest.

Are there TTS options available?

Ive been looking into conquest as well as A song of ice and fire TTG. I think the main issue is lack of people to play. I dont enjoy painting so just getting models to paint is not an option for me.

I really want to like conquest - the unit models are highly detailed, the lore is interesting, and their take on various fantasy stereotypes is refreshing. But I just don't find their regiment-style card based movement/activations. I did see a battle report of first blood, and that seemed much more my style. Do all the units from Conquest work in first blood or is there a more lmimited selection? For example Infinity N4 has a huge range of models, but many of them do not have rules for their skirmish game of Code One.

I just picked up an abomination for 50% off, been interested in conquest for a while now and when I see it I had to get it.

@2+Tough will say the instructions to build are strange as they number the parts on the pdf but not on the sprue. I only got it because it was cheap and awesome but now spires may have to be my army for conquest.

Are there any novels? I would love to buy one to get more into the world

The only thing I know is the conquest companion which has a lot of the lore in it. There is also a lot of free fluff on the homepage.

The Discord doesn't seem to be the best place to ask Qs, however. I've asked multiple Qs and I don't get answers after days and even repeat posts. Is there a forum that they use that you can get rules answers to?

Ask your question on #tlaok-rules and tag Leo or Rhys, they are the developers. They take a while but they answer.

The Spires Abomination model is the most depressing model I’ve ever seen. I bought a spires necromancer at a store I visited and really want to try Conquest out.

@@anakon It's the arm posing for me. It looks like it wants to give you a really aggressive hug. The model equivalent of "guy that doesn't know what to do with his arms when getting his picture taken".

Conquest has the issue where I look at the concept and I’m intrigued, but then the do something with the models that kills it for me, it’s always almost there but they never quite mail it for me, for example, the city states, everything looks great, but the Minotaurs look like cans of beans, and I lost interest because some of their coolest stuff just missed, and that’s the story of conquest imo, almost but not quite

But everyone makes their minotaurs look ripped and jacked, these are different, they are shaped more like a bull instead of a weightlifter. It's definitely not for everyone, but it's a nice modeling change.

@@hades_deathgod9496 that's fair. I think this is just another case of opinions, which is great to have a civil talk on the internet about. I've got several bullgors from AoS, so for me these are a pretty good sculpt.

I have to disagree about the discord. I had a less than pleasurable experience, so I don't go near it anymore. The same vocal few taking charge of the conversation (same as any large discord). The few questions that weren't outright ignored were kinda brushed aside as unimportant. Nobody was outright hostile or mean, but I wasn't made to feel very welcome (or smart) either. Maybe it's changed these days
