Just went to my first Ren Fair in Muskogee, Ok. I've been wanting to get into leather crafting for a while and just recently bought some basic stuff. I was only going to pick up the skill as an aside to my woodworking and metal art. This will definitely be a skill I hone to much higher level than I had previously anticipated. Thanks for the video and inspiration. Subbed and liked sir. Well done.

Love your work and tutorials, I'd say while drooling over tools is fun and makes you look forward to your next purchase the big money sink in the beginning is good quality leather to practice and work with

Been a fan of your work for a long time, I think the first thing I saw was the full Ironman suit. Since then I've been getting hooked on leatherwork craft and videos. (Haven't made the leap to start just yet though.) Tutorials would be great to see, from beginner up to expert methods. Other things like a time-lapse of projects with narration talking about aspects of the build would be great to see too.

Bought my first leather and tool after watching your last one!! just waiting on shipment then ready to craft!

i use to see your videos to learn, i have being working with leather the most of my life (family bussines, factory no hand made) but i found on you a good master to add neew tecnics to my own work, i have to tell you, this is maybe the best video i saw from you and i have to say thank you, you are an example for a lot of people like me and obviously, a good master, coping some of yours desings i could put on practise a lot of new tecnics and new proyect all by hand made, wich i love, thank you again (sorry for my english)

I have admired your work for years. Your armor is part of the reason I got into leatherwork. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am eager to learn more from a master craftsman! Do you use horse hair for your helmet plumes? How do you set it and from where do you source it? Also, fit is a problem for me. I’m always making something either too big or too small, never seems “just right.” Thank you!

Thank you for such a great video.... As for future versions..... How to reproduce consistently a specific color or dye of a leather piece and how to seal it properly, is a huge interest for myself....

Yeah I can expand upon that at some point.

I was surprised to find that there’s a tandy leather store really close to where I live! I’m definitely going to go there soon so I can get myself some tools to start with! I’m a cosplayer, and I’ve been really interested in making more realistic armour, so leatherwork seems like it would be way more fun and bring a way nicer end product than foam! Anyway, this is a very helpful video, thank you!

I consider myself a maker using many different mediums for crafting ...but I have just fallen in love with leather working. I've only just seen your videos and I cant wait to start my first project. Any suggestions for a good starter project?

Could you make some tutorials on swivel knives exercises. Just a thought.

I would love to see how to make something with basic inexpensive tools.

I did edit the video to match the dialogue. I do not have video of every tool I have used in the past however so I had to improvise slightly and did list relevant tools in the description. If I missed anything just ask and I'll look it up.

I have found that leathercraft on a budget forces you to be creative about how and what you use

Absolutely beautiful! I must have that pattern! Can this technique be carried over to HD (high density) foam or EVA foam? 🤔

What did you use to dye and finish the helmet shown towards the end of the video? It's gorgeous.

Please put up a pattern for the helmet at 6:33 in this video. I would really love to make that one

awesome video!! i was wondering with veg tan leather.. do you always etch and stamp before dyeing the leather.. or can you dye the leather first.. does it really matter? Thanks!

Those armors are ridiculous! They look like something world-first raiders would have.

Great job yet again. I feel like you may have pegged me at the end. Watched many videos but haven't started yet. The tool list is a big help. Has your interest ever taken you into the tanning department? Or you more just finished product? Either way thumbs up, can't wait for more.

Do they make a table mounted shear for cutting leather like they have for cutting sheet metal?

Punches from Harbor Freight are cheap and countertop shops will often give you a piece of sink cutout.

That mask is sick as hell!

Just to let you know, I'm looking forward to a low budget tutorial. I'm really thinking about starting this summer. Just don't have the money :p

Hello! Beautiful work and really nice and inspirational video. If I can suggest something I would like to see on youtube it would be a tutorial on how to make nice and comfortable leather bracers. Maybe some tips for design and decorating. It should be a great way to start crafting armour but I don't see any videos on youtube that are up to your quality. And can I use really thin leather for something? Can I just layer it? :-) Looking forward to seeing your next videos!
