    Hi. Can you pay an insurance which covers you if you ever get sued being a Sole trader? I think you can and not necessarily go to Limited Company which you can’t afford as a beginner right? Do clients sue so much?

    Thanks for making the video, Sam. I found the structure you provided on how to approach building web design business to be helpful. What are your thoughts on SEO for webflow vs Wordpress sites? Always thought Wordpress had an advantage when it comes to SEO. Would love your take on this. Thanks

    My pleasure dude! I still think Wordpress is great particularly when paired up with a builder like Bricks builder. However SEO is SEO whatever platform you’re on so whilst there’s more SEO plugins for WordPress, the core principles are the same. I predominantly use Webflow because I genuinely think it’s the best builder out there and having the hosting all managed for you is just one less thing to worry about 👍🏻 it has some limitations but for creative CMS marketing style websites it’s perfect and very quick. Ecommerce not so much, so it depends what kind of sites you like to build.

    hey mate, amazing video! I just built 2 professional mobile friendly websites on wordpress. But when I searched wordpress jobs, I was mindblown by their requirements. They need PHP, Javascript, API integration, and few more skillsets as well, and this was common in most of the wordpress job vacancies. Does one have to learn all of these for web design projects?

    Sir I've a doubt When we will handover the website to the client do we need to tell them about the running cost of the Webflow website such as Webflow monthly plans & Hosting Or do we need to tell these things before the website is built?

    Did you keep some type of monthly maintenance plan with your clients once you swapped over to webflow? maybe swapping backups/updates with something like website content updates?

  • @sam-harrison

    @sam-harrison

    Жыл бұрын

    I do have some webflow clients on retainer for ongoing work in terms of creating new pages and uploading content etc. But it’s less common compared to Wordpress of course where it’s essentially a prerequisite to add a monthly maintenance fee ha. For me the trade off was worth it since I never have to worry about updating anything or worrying about what daft plugin they’ve installed 👍🏻

    Hi Sam, this is so interesting and I really want to try this web design business from home. My question is: What kind of contract do you usually written down in your contract? To be honest, I am not really good in writing a contract. And I'm very new to this (I mean how to write a contact) I usually develop websites for clients using Wordpress but never using Webflow. But mostly do it from scratch using PHP. Thanks a lot for your best video tutorial.

    I will add it into the total price and tell client the total cost of the project. If they ask you for a price breakdown is when you discuss hosting and domains to them. But I will go ahead and add it to the total along with your labor.

    Are there any web design agencies out there that use code (HTML, CSS and Javascript) to create websites for clients or is that just not worth it anymore with these no code editors like webflow?

  • @sam-harrison

    @sam-harrison

    8 ай бұрын

    There definitely is and it’s still vital for some projects. However, for the kinds of sites I like to make which I’d class as CMS driven marketing websites, it’s just so much faster than coding by hand. Most clients want their websites completed yesterday, so a tool like webflow allows you to move much faster whilst setting up a custom CMS for your clients. Those that already know how to code would be able to move even faster with Webflow 👍🏻

    I think it’s fine either way and probably depends on the project. However most of my clients require a CMS so I find I can give client what they want in half the time using Webflow or Bricks for WordPress.

    @@sam-harrison I don't know the first step that I need to take to get clients. Do I need to create another fiverr account? My first account is dead and fiverr has changed so much that I don't know where to start because new seller account is not promoted and no one notices you unless you throw some money (that I don't have) at it first with fake reviews and promoting your gigs etc. Same is the case with freelancer. I'm not very sure about UpWork though because I haven't tried UpWork yet. I have just started thinking about getting back to freelancing since job market is extremely vulnerable and I have skills to build shopify stores and MERN stack apps but don't have the necessary skills for getting clients. How can I improve myself in this area? Any advice will be highly highly appreciated 🙏❤

    Do it for free until you get good expertise. Ask them to refer you to their clients or friends. Play emotional games - something like - Pay for my work if you like it. No like no pay. They will surely pay you in the end.
