I got it figured out in the end but I did something wrong in the middle and had to go fix a couple things. In Printify, should I select the option to keep it hidden? And when I did my first item it showed up as active, not as a draft. How do I fix these things going forward? This video was great to get me started!!!

Thank you for the awesome video Hannah. 11:03 I'm not sure if this part is needed, considering that ALL sales taxes are apparently collected by Etsy if Printify is used in combination with Etsy and / or Ebay. I have been searching for answers regarding this for a couple of days now and I found a comment by a gentleman named Brian underneath Printify's own taxes video (titled: Taxes 101: Everything You Need to Know for Your Online Store), stating that Printify's customer support confirmed with him that if one is strickly using Etsy or Ebay to sell their POD items on (and Printify and their partners to print the product and ship it) as long as the order is getting uploaded from Etsy to Printify that we as the seller will not be charged sales tax unless it is a manual order such as a smaple order etc.

I personally like that Printify has more options because they partner with many vendors. They also have some of the best pricing I've seen across most of their products. I've used both in the past but have switched over to Printify exclusively now.

Hi Hannah...I have a quick question...I followed your instructions, and I did the test and it published to my Etsy shop.... then I tried 2 more products, and they just sit in Printify as published and don't show up in Etsy' listing status anywhere. Any advice you have would be great.

I haven’t done a video on this but it’s actually a great idea to. I think having a separate account is a good idea when your business starts to grow, but don’t let that hinder you from getting started. I started my accounts just linked to my personal bank when I began too. Everything can be switched later.

In addition, I created a new store on Etsy and I already connected my new Etsy account to Printify. Hi, Thanks this video. I am having difficulty with the Etsy set up. It is not appearing as it does in your video. For example, I don't see my products that I send/copy from my Printify Pop Up Store. Instead, it simply asks me all the details about my product, etc. As if I haven't downloaded anything from Printify. (In your video, you were able to type in "test" and go from there) And there is no "do this later" button. Where does my product actually show up on Etsy where I can see it (BEFORE it gets published)? I'm so confused.Perhaps Etsy has changed since this video was produced? Today is 4/22/2024. Please help. (oh, how I wish I could just TALK to someone.) I'm about to give up.

1. Customers give all shipping info and this goes directly to printify without you doing anything. 2. Printify offers many different countries. 3. You don't need the same payment method.

Printify has the option to order samples of any of the items before hand, however, in most cases I don’t think this is necessary. If you want a better idea of quality of a certain item, you can always look up reviews on KZread too.

The tax section on Printify was a bit confusing. I don’t have a resale or tax exemption certificate. I’m just starting out. Do you need these particular items to use Printify or to even sell POD? If so who is best to set me up with one? Thanks for any guidance. 😊

No you thankfully don’t! You just have to give them your tax info as an individual.

This was fantastic. Now question for you. Do you pay the shipping on top of the fee for the t-shirt? Does this mean you make around 5$ profit on each T-shirt?

To sell in Australia should I choose Australian print shops for quick postage? if so do I choose American printers for American buyers? If you choose an AU-based POD supplier, the production time and shipping time would be optimized. I'm working with Merchize as they have factories in US and AU (and other countries) and very happy with their service. Their product base cost are quite reasonable too.

Very good explanation. I just got scared about the amount of money Etsy will charge me before I get paid for my sales. I definitively do not have so much money and that is why I want to start with POD.

Amazon merch, redbubble, teepublic and zazzle are good options.

Thanks for the video, I have one question. On Printify, when we get charged for an order, is it possible we ever lose money on a sale? How do we know how much we’ll be charged for each sale & how much we’ll make in profit? Also, what does Etsy charge us? If we sell a shirt for $20 for example, what % of that does Etsy and Printify take? And how much would we have to pay?

One of my favorite tools on Sale Samurai is their profit calculator. It gives the exact real amount you can expect to make. But, Etsy takes typically 6.5%, but there are often other fees as well. I like to price the items I sell on Etsy $8-10 more than what they cost on printify to make sure I make at least $5 on each sale.

I am confused about what to place in the "who made this" category. I was told by many POD sellers to put "Another Company or Person" because you are using a printing partner and that you have to let your customers know about this. Depending on the niche, you could totally start posting other products to that store.

Hmm. If it won't recognize your zip code, try putting one close to you instead. Since you won't actually be using this listing at all later, you don't have to worry about it being correct.

What's the best way to avoid copyright infringement? I assume I would be safe with text only, but are Printify's stock images free to the public to use and sell on their products (t-shirts, etc.)? I like to advise people to list everyday. After you reach around 100 good listings, you should start getting some sales.

So must you have a "legit business certificate" & such filed with the state before you set up your etsy/printify stores for sales tax purposes?

I think it’s great to, but after a while selling with Printify I really trust their quality and customer service so I would be comfortable listing a new product type before I have a chance to sell it. Also, there are tons of reviews out there on each product type, so don’t let that hold you back from getting started!
