I spent some serious time and effort making a dresser. Everything from picking through the lumber, measuring, sanding, the whole process. I assembled it and it was gorgeous. All I had to do was stain it. I didn't get mad, but I did cringe a lot on the inside 😬. My wife decided to try and stain it for me while I was gone last weekend. She had never stained wood before. What I had was an oil based stain with a one hour dry time. She applied it like painting a wall.... I never imagined it was possible to apply stain that thick on wood 🤣. It was still tacky four days later. I applied chemical stripper and it did nothing after an hour.... Out of frustration, I just trashed it. Again, I didn't get mad at her. But I spent a lot of time making that dresser. The stain ran all down the sides and was puddling in the drawers 🤣
